i’ve just been taken off my 30mg of citalopram and have been placed onto 100mg of sertraline. i had been experiencing many many panic attacks and even hearing voices during the lowest points, on top of crying all the time and scratching at already sore skin (i have eczema) for relief from mental anguish. has anyone else made a similar change? and here is to hoping i finally get some normality back from the past few months!

Hi there, I was on citalopram for 7 years then it stopped working last year then I was put on sertraline, it was hell! I was in a constant state of panic, my anxiety was horrendous, severe depersonalization, I was crying and couldn't eat, I had a nervous breakdown I think! My thoughts and noises in my head were so loud it was scary which caused more panic, I felt so detached from my body it was frightening. I was on 50mg for a week, then 100mg for 3 weeks then 150mg when I reached this dose my panic attacks stopped and anxiety died down also the loud noise in my head went. It does get better but really does take a while with sertraline, I have been on them since October 24 and I still don't feel like myself but at least I don't panic no more! Anyways the drug works differently for everyone, so hang in there, I know it's a nightmare starting a new drug it's a scary and lonely place when you feel like this, it will get better!
