I also momentarily forget peoples names that I have worked with for ages. Its embarrassing when you are out with your partner and you bump into someone then try to introduce them! I think they think I am being funny with them, not so though, just  goes!

Hello ianstokes66, I recently started expeiencing this loss of concentration alot, I am dealing with customers all day on billing, technical support and sales, in the middle of explaining charges or what ever, I completely blank out. I have to stop and remember what I am doing. Its bad. I am sorry you are going through this but,you are not alone.

I lost mine along time ago.At least that is how I feel and or everyone looks at me that way. Some Dr look at you crazy when you try to explaine how you feel or what is happening. I tried to explain my face hurts and its not my sinuses and i did not get hit in the face and its not a headache. I have migraines, i know what it feels like.

The memory problems I have been told are linked to my ME/CFS. I have both ME and Fibromyalgia.  I have good days and bad days in terms of how much my brain wants to work properly.  Peoples names have always been a problem taht I think is more on the Fibromyalgia side of things and Brain Fog goes under both.  However, it has got to the point I struggle to remember what I'm supposed to be doing each day.  I can even forget why I've just knelt down. I can lose track of a sentence and what people are saying. Sometimes the brain just doesn't want to work with me at all and I have to ask someone to safely when to cross the road.  How to spell normal words is common and I have to choose another word instead.  I am now losing things and can't remember if I've done things.  Even if there is proof I have done it I have no recall memory of it.

In terms of names I don't speak to people using their name unless I have to. One because I might of forgotten it (even friends I see every day) and two I'm unsure if I've remembered it right.

I miss my memory!!! Both long and short term is affected. The doctors are trying some medicines to help me. Can't remember if it is working - hee hee hee wink

This has become a REAL problem for me. Today I was speaking with someone about the Fourth of July and wondering If we get paid from our employer. I started to say that we did for the last holiday but couldnt remember what it was. The person said "Memorial Day duh". I get very confused easily. Its like I have Dyslexia now too. People must think Im dumb. So embarrassing!

It sounds to me like you have wat is called "Fibro Fog". I have a very severe case of fibro (to the point that I cannot work). I lose my place in the middle of sentences. My husband and I will go someplace and then return and I cannot remember ever being there. I have a notebook that I have to write things down or I will forget. I also have the problem of reading instructions for example and then trying to give them to someone and in my head they make sense but to the person receiving the instructions it is garbled. I have learned that when I talk to someone and they get this "Funny" look on their face that I am not getting my idea accross and so I apologize and try again. My doctor says that this is caused by how the nerves in my brain are processing the information. The example he gave me is that it is like my brain is a computer and it needs to be rebuted but cannot be so information that is put out is not always correct, concentration is off and finding the right word is difficult. I hope and pray that your "Fog" does not progress any further. Remember to stay positive and explain to people what is happening. I have found that when you tell people what is wrong they tend to be more patient with you. Also speak to your doctor to make sure it is not from medication. Gaberpentine which I was on for a while made the memory loss MUCH worse. My current doctor took me off of that quickly.
