Confused about my condition

Hello, I am unsure if I even have genital herpes

I have a partner (who I know I didn't contract it from, if I even have it), but I think I may have gotten it from someone a very long time ago and when symptoms came up, I immediately told my partner what I think I have and they seemed okay with it.

Well some symptoms I have are: intense itching, very very dry flaky skin around my labia majora, red scaly patches that sometimes appear around the labia majora as well, very very red raw skin (possibly from scratching a lot?), and I have also gotten a cut very near the opening of my vagina a couple times. When I had no symptoms, my partner and I decided to give it a go and a few times after intercourse I peed and it stung (maybe from rough sex?). Also, I have an itchy rectum and sometimes during bowel movements it will bleed. A last thing though, it looks like I have ingrown hairs but I saw one bump that looked like a pimple, it had a white center but didn't hurt or anything. I took a picture and asked my mom and asked if it looked like a pimple and she said to see what happens in a few days to it, and it just disappeared. Today I found one on the lower cheek part of my posterior, and I am not sure if it is a pimple or what. (Not going to lie, I usually always get pimples on my rear area, which makes it confusing as well because this one has a much more white center).

I have yet to find any open sores, which makes me confused as to if this is herpes. I have constantly looked up everything that says it could be herpes, a yeast infection, hpv (but my pap smear came back normal 5 months ago so I do not think I have hpv), and my boyfriend thinks that I am just making myself freaked out. I haven't been able to go to the doctor yet either so I am just driving myself insane with stress and so much anxiety that I cannot focus. I know I can't assume that everyone can give me a diagnosis over the internet, but just some honest feedback on whether you think this sounds like genital herpes would be great.

One last thing, I bought an over the counter yeast infection thing where you insert it and then it dissolves in your vagina, and my symptoms went away for a week and then came back. My symptoms have been off and on for about 6 months now. Thanks for reading this!

I forgot one thing! Any bump I had hasn't came in clusters and are relatively small. I always thought herpes came in clusters and were decent sized.

update: the white part on the bump on my butt went away and now it is just a red, flat dot that looks like it's reducing in size.

    Hi123,

That's hard to say. I've not heard of those symptoms for herpes,  except for itching, red bumps and fissures (small cuts). The rest sounds like an eczema, scoriosis, lichen planus of some type. You won't be at rest until you get a confirmed test, so I suggest you do that asap. In the mean time, try not to stress about it and I know that's easier said than done, but you have to look at it like this; if you do infect have it, there's nothing you can do to change that now. Try not to put the wagon before the horse. Does your bf have oral herpes?

I do have a form of eczema on my arms. I have keratosis pilaris mildly and my sister has it as well-- I do have a cousin that has psoriasis down there also. Maybe that could be right. But no he doesn't, as far as I am concerned. I believe a previous partner may have and didn't know or didn't tell me. I actually never knew that cold sores on the mouth were a form of herpes, so would it be possible that if I had a small cold sore and gave oral sex to my bf that he could have gotten it down there, and then gave me during intercourse? Maybe I am thinking too hard into this, but yes I will try my best to make an appointment asap. I just make myself freak out a lot and will get worried that it's something worse over time.

Based on what I read, people who have those skin conditions, can be prone to get it down there, which is then called lichen planus. I know it's hard not to stress, but I promise you're just making it worse by doing so. Yes, giving oral sex to someone and vice versa when they have a cold sore or symptoms of one coming, can be passed genitally. Some people are asymptomatic and based on statistics, the vast majority of people w genital herpes do not experience symptoms or they're mistaken for something else. Go to an urgent clinic to get tested quickly and not have to wait till Monday. In the mean time, stop looking up things on the internet. Keep your head up. smile
