Constant pre-gallbladder attack feeling.

Hey everyone!

Curious if anyone else with gallstones here have experienced something similar to this.

I was diagnosed with gallstones about a year ago, and I'm currently awaiting operation in a few months.

For last week I've been sore in and around the bladder area, all-around the right side rib.

Been a lot more gassy and anxious too, because it's how I usually feel right before I'm about to have an attack. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it started after an episode I had last week. No fever, nausea, or pain of any kind, just tender and on edge 24/7, which is slightly annoying.

Anyone had something similar happened to them? Or have an idea of what it might be?

Would appreciate any insight and answer.

    Isabelle.

yes indeed I had the same thing going on for a while while I was waiting for the crappie n h s opp

of which I never got. Then when I was feeling like you are now for a couple of weeks the attacks stated getting horrendous and almost constant then at 5 a and e visits all they done was took bloods and send me on my merry way each time .

now you need to pay attention to this part please .

    go to a and e

‘make them do a blood work up

and if your white blood cell count is elavated even a little ?

make them do an ultrasound and ct scan ok.

the nhs left me for dead ,they refused to scan me and ultrasound me saying my white blood cell count was up somewhat each time but cos my lfts were normal , home you go .

cut a long story short I got a private ultrasound done then a private ct scan which indicated infection in my gallbladder as well as two large stones.

surgeon said something was seriously wrong as I looked like death by this point , said he needed to operate now , did so .

my gall bladder was completely gangrenous and full of puss ?

he told me I was hours from death ?

so get to a and e if you feel things have changed and get bloods run .

hope this is not yr case just please pay attention to your body you know how you fell.

hope this helps and don’t let it alarm you, as that does not help.

    bless you.

Sounds like a horrible ordeal you've been through, but I'm happy you got the care you needed just in time!I can relate to the thing of being waved off and sent home; that is kinda why I haven't gone yet.

If I show up without being in any real pain, but just sore and on edge, they'll just tell me "it's fine, go home"

If it doesn't get better in the following days, or if I break out in a fever, I'll head straight to a & e.

Thanks for your story and reply!

      All the best

    Hi Isabelle,

I’m awaiting op as well. I often get weird pains. They can be anywhere really but yes my ribs and my abdomen. I also feel a lot of anxiety. I think if you have experienced an attack and it’s been really bad you are always on edge. But if it gets bad then phone nhs direct or your go or if really bad go to a & e and get checked as it could be infection and inflammation.  I had that. My gallbladder was a mess. I had no idea I had stones tho and put the pain down to other things for 2 Years. But if you know you have them best to get your blood checked for inflammation and infection markers . Hope you get the op soon. Claire x

      Hey Claire!

I think you're right about the weird pains being anywhere too. It's like they pop-up here and there in and around the rib cage, below, even shoulders ect ect, but for most part stays on the right side.

That's exactly the thing, you know how horrible and bad a long attack feels, so it's hard to not be anxious whenever you start feeling like it's coming on.

If it gets worse or doesn't improve in any way soon, I'll get seek help right away.

Thank you for your reply too! I hope you get your op soon as well, and that it all goes well!

      All the best
