Constant yawning, breathlessness, urge to take deep breaths

For about 3 years now I have had this problem, the main one is urges to take deep breaths like every 30 seconds, sometimes I can't fulfill a deep breath but is very satisfying when I do, but it comes back not long after. Also get persistant yawning and breathlessness, and a tight chest constantly. I am an asthmatic and am on blue Ventolin inhalers, although I don't believe asthma is the problem. I am 20 years old and feel it is ruining my life and making me go crazy. The doctor referred me to a COPD clinic, although the tests came back all clear, and the doctor said my breathing is perfectly fine, oxygen levels are fine, so the doctor just puts it all down to anxiety. Has anyone had this problem?

I have had a similar problem for one and a half years. I am 32 years old. I have shortness of breath, trouble breathing in, and have an urge to take deep breaths every ten breaths or so. The pulmonologist after PFT said that my lung function is 100% and I should start exercising vigorously, so I started running for half an hour on a treadmill with a speed of 10-11 km/hrs. I also do exercises with dumbbells and kundalini yoga for the 4th chakra. My shortness of breath was horrible, I had suicidal thoughts because of it, but now it seems somewhat better. Let me know what you have been doing to help with your condition.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I tried many psychiatric treatments. I think that my condition is a somatoform disorder. I tried 12 sessions of ECT and it kind of helped, at least I was able to work and do things for a month after it, but after that my breathing got worse. I stopped ECT because my memory got worse, which is a common side effect of ECT. I also took many psychiatric medications, such as risperidone, citalopram, lithium, but now I stopped everything except 2mg of risperidone.
