Contacting old partners?

Posted , 4 users are following.

If there is no way of knowing how long I have had it or who I got it from, is there really any point in contacting old partners? I do not speak to any of them so I do not see these conversations going well. I just see it bringing up a lot of pain and anxiety for me in addition to the terrible psychological impact this has already had. I obviously will always disclose to future partners but I am having an internal struggle with the old. Any advice?

Unsure if you health clinic offers it but there are some clinics/services out there that will send an anonymous notice to your previous partner/s letting them know that a past sexual partner of theirs has recently tested positive for hsv.

They get notified and you remain anonymous. No need for the awkward convo.

I would find out if this is something your health provider offers and take this route.

    Hope this helps

That's a good idea! I really just don't want to have to text them and explain this. It is hard enough dealing with it on my own with it all being so fresh so I don't want to add that into the mix.

Let it go I've been there and doesn't do anything but make me feel sorry for myself. I have to get better. It's not the end of the world. Initially you'll sure feel like it. I been positive for a whole year now, and I'll admit things have gotten better. Hang in there.
