COPD results

Been diagnosed with copd but I'm wondering if the test can get it wrong since my bloods and X-ray came back fine, also the nurse told me to blow out hard and continues not as hard as I can so I didn't.

I do get some symptoms that could relate to copd such coughing and chest tightness when working in dust environments and coughing phlegm. I've coughed phlegm for 15 years since I started smoking .

My fev1 is 65%

    Hi

if you have had a properly conducted Spirometer test. This will tell if and what lung condition you have.

Blood Test and X-Rays are to rule out other causes.

From your result it indicates moderate or stage 2 lung condition, as a smoker it would indicate COPD which is a umbrella term for Chronic Bronchitis or Emphysema

lung conditions such as COPD, are caused by inhalation of smoke, toxic fumes or foreign matter.

Smoking and working in dusty environments will not help your lungs.

having been diagnosed you need to stop smoking and wear suitable protective equipment if exposed to dusty environments.

Ask for a second opinion if you are unsure.

I was diagnosed with copd and never new it until I had a chest cold I ignored and placed in hospital when I was released I didn't know what my Ct scans read so I called doctor for him basically tell me I have emphysema and he's slammedcang talk come by his office and click hung up on me I was so upset crying thinking I got to live I have a 8 year old daughter a 29 year old son a one year old grand baby. Went by his office ask him what I do now he said wait to see if it clears up. That was it   I thought emphysema don't clear up so I went and got copies of medical records and since I was placed in hospital in 2011 I had a Ct scan then and he had diagnosed me with emphysema copd chronic bronchitis and asthma I was terrified did not know this. Went to another local nurse  to get a referral for a specialist out of town this doctor did not want to give me one said I can treat you I said I don't mind you treating me but I will not be treated for something I'm not sure I have anyways after arguing with him finally got my referral went to it and all my number were well over 100 except one I believe I did not have copd emphysema or bronchitis I do have she said as a description her hair is blonde emphysema like. I've had to very very tiny scares on lungs that have been there we know of for six years without change may have been there longer and i have no issues with my lungs none if I take care of my lungs she said in 20 years they can look as good as the do now. She said I could have have mild asthma do to allergies or acid reflux to get it under control and my symptoms may go away. So go get second opinion it does not hurt. Also put prayer clothes in envelop with my Ct scans so maybe I did hVd it maybe I was healed maybe I didn't have it and my doctor just billed it for the money or to get insurance to pay for test but either way God is great to us and I'm thankful for his healing and grateful I did go for second opinion. Small towns we have to watch may be treated for things you don't have or not treated for things you do. Blessings on your journey and take care.

I think it's definitely better to get a specialist opinion with something so serious I just hope I get the same luck as you 🙏
