Copper Coil IUD - My experience

Posted , 1 user is following.

Hey All,

I just thought i'd go through my experience with getting the copper coil; there are so many negative discussions on the net in relation to this because people only complain and write about the negative.

STATS

Age: 24

Height: 5ft3

Weight: 57kg

Kids: None

Build: Slim

First of all, I took Naproxen about an hour before having the procedure done... I do think this helped.

There were 2 people in the room, the main Dr and an assistant.

One thing I will tell you to do is BREATHE, try to relax and don't work yourself up.

I'm not going to tell you its a pleasant experience because its not but with constant deep breathes and some meditation... its really not that bad.

The way I can describe it is intense menstrual cramps; I simply moved my head to the side, closed my eyes, focused on a memory and took deep breathes. It was over so quickly.

Since the fitting I have had some cramping and light bleeding but nothing major.

Disclaimer: Everyone's experience is completely different but part of it is mindset - the body can tolerate so much, its your mind you have to control.

I'll give an update if anything changes!!
