Cough, cold now lost voice

Hi guys. So a few days ago I had a terrible sore throat which turned into a cold. Now the cold has eased I woke up with no voice! I've had pharyngitis before but could it be that? If so is it common after a cough?

    Probably Laryngitis rather than Pharyngitis. You have a nasty infection there,probably viral which will run its course and then go away. If you start to feel really ill then do see a doctor as a bacterial infection can also kick in and that may need antibiotics. A cough is just one of the symptoms of the total infection. Very common. drink plenty ,gargle with warm slightly salted water, take ibuprofen,keep warm,stay away from babies.

      Hi yes thank you for your reply. It is probably laryngitis. I've completely lost my voice. Thanks for the advice
