Could be Balantis - Bright red, irritated bumps of glands of penis

Posted , 2 users are following.

I’m a 16 year old currently spending the year living in Japan. Recently, I developed irritation and red spots on the glands of my penis. They’re very small and don’t appear to have fluid inside. I’ve always been pretty adamant about keeping my genitals clean, but since I’m uncircumcised sometimes that’s easier said than done. I’m a virgin, so there’s no way it could be an STD. I’ve done some research, and I think it may be Balantis, but unfortunately you can’t get get most (or any) of the solutions covered on this forums over the counter in Japan, and I’d like to avoid going to the doctor as best as possible. I return home next month, so is it worth waiting it out?

What do you all recommend for this predicament? Thank you

I have also been masturbating without issue, although it is harder to get an erection than before. I’ve only been masturbating once a week or so. Discharge is normal and not discolored.

It sounds very much like balanitis, and if it is, then I'd wait it out.  These links may help:

It will probably just go away without treatment, but washing (with water, no soap) daily, and taking a leak and washing after masturbation or sex will probably help, and you could also try Canesten cream or Daktarin cream or any other anti-fungal cream.  Loose fitting cotton underwear may help, and some sites recommend washing underwear with non-biological washing powder or liquid.

Unless you have phimosis, it should be very easy to keep clean, and if you can see most of your glans, then you don't have severe phimosis.  If you're only 16, then phimosis would normally fix itself, but gentle stretching usually helps, and you could also ask a doctor about a steroid cream.

You'll probably need to use a PC or laptop rather than a phone or tablet.
