Presently i am having a bad flare up of acid reflux and am feeling very down with it.
?Briefly i started with globus in Jan 2016 after being anxious for a time.
I saw an ENT and ended up on pantoprazole as he diagnosed me with acid reflux although i had no symptoms other than globus.
?I then developed discomfort in my stomach and felt the drugs may have caused it.I was on them for approx 2 months with no improvement.
I came off them and had a camera down my throat, again ENT confirmed i had acid and to keep on the PPI.
?Basicaly i have had periods off drugs and on, also tried honey, avoiding certain foods,i've taken silicol gel before meals and gaviscon after.
After noticing a significant improvement during approx 7 weeks off PPI's i had a flare up and decided to try Lansoprazole.
?My symptoms are very mild globus and epigastric discomfort like pressure.
?The GP ordered a scan of my upper abdomen which was fine, he's looking at IBS and coeliac disease next. he's also mentioned a camera in my stomach. I'm anxious about the camera test which he may order.
?I have been trying to keep a record of whats happening diet wise and symptms. Does anyone know of any printable record sheets please.

Hi, I dont know of any sheets but just thought I'd say that it sounds like you have a thorough doctor. The doctors ive seen, at least GPs , act as though aside from prescribing the PPIs they want nothing to do with reflux, which includes referrals to specialists. I dont think a lot of them have much of a grasp on Reflux and all thats involved with it as far as symptoms go.
I have a terrible time with globus. I think it's my most annoying symptom since it causes me so much nausea. I take 40mg of Pantrapazole daily but it doesn't help too much. Neither does diet actually.

Hi Carol, thank you for your reply, i agree about doctors not knowing too much about reflux, we probably know more through research and talking to other people.
?I'm sorry to hear your globus is bad, mine doesn't actualy cause nausea.
You could try silicol gel before meals it's used to reat reflux and nausea, you get it from holland and barrets, i have had some success with it but presently it's not doing much so trying lansoprzole.
I find chewing whitening gum helps the globus as well as sips of water.
?At the moment my globus is very mild, it's the reflux pressure feeling that's driving me mad.
