(Little background: I'm 42 and I've just done another set of tests and all my hormones are fine, and so is my ovarian ultrasound)
I got my period on time with usual signs (in my case it's a headache, then slow start of bleeding, than normal flow). All of a sudden after three days the bleeding stopped and restarted after 3 days, with me being bloated and feeling "full" in my lower abdomen.
The only difference with my previous periods is... For some reason I felt like drinking sage tea. I have drunk in maybe 5 times in my entire life. I started drinking really large quantities on the first day of my period and continued until what would be my fourth day (the bleeding stopped on the third day). After more than 24h, my PMS symptoms returned and the bleeding restarted, although not as abundant, as it normally is.
I know that nettle can stop the bleeding. and I have read that sage could seriously influence a hormonal balance and women who are sensitive to estrogen (especially those who have either a personal or a family history of estrogen cancers) should avoid it altogether.
So.... Could Sage tea (in large quantity) influence/stop period bleeding?
Thank you!
