Hi All,
I am type 1 diabetic and have been feeling under the weather. I've noticed a lump underneath my liver, you can't see it, but if I rub my hand over it I can feel a large lump. Initially there was no pain, I brought it to my doctors attention. She said she thought it may be a lymph node. Well recently, I have been getting headaches almost every other day. I am extremely bloated it seems every day. I have noticed a pain on the right side of my abdomen, it's usually a sudden, sharp, pain which only last for about 30 seconds-1minute however, it's sharp and when I try to inhale deep it hurts more. This pain only happens about once a day. I'm not sure if this could be my gallbladder.
I would appreciate y'all thoughts. Thank you!

Hi Veronica,
Sorry you're dealing with this as well as diabetes. I would suggest that you get a referral from your doctor to a gastroenterologist for the appropriate tests and a diagnosis as soon as possible. Your doctor is not doing you any favors by not investigating what's happening with you. It could be your gallbladder, or it could be something else...
I would suggest that you eat small frequent meals and try to keep to low fat and see if your symptoms abate a bit. But you still need medical attention from someone willing to assist you.
Best of luck, and please let me know how you get on!

It is possible that it could be gallbladder as some of your symptoms are gallbladder but then there are several conditions that give the same so they will need to do tests to rule things out before they settle on a diagnosis. I suggest you should go back to your doctor if your symptoms have changed or have got worse. Really they need to do an ultrasound to see if you have any stones in the gallbladder.
Let me know how you get on, take care x

Ask your doctor to order an ultrasound of that area. My husband had 2-3 months of sudden severe right sided pain. Our family physician said it was only gas (really), and the pain location was too high to be appendix . Anyway, the paid got so severe on a Sunday that we went to the emergency room. They ordered the ultrasound. His problem WAS appendix, and it was very close to rupturing. The surgeon said that you can have occasional appendix pain for years (chronic appendix) before it causes real problems. Because the end of his appendix was turned in an abnormal way, the pain was deferred to a higher location.
My GB pain was always behind my rib cage directly under my right breast.
I hope this helps.
