Could this be herpes ?

Alright here's why i am asking if this could be herpes, i dated a girl for a month ( i slept with her) until she told me that she had herpes, yup she didn't say it before. We always used a condom tho. Lately, i've been noticing some red spot on my penis, some just go away by time ( sometimes like 2 days or less) but tonight, after i masturbated, i noticed this bigger red spot and those around. I've been feeling a LITTLE bit of burn during the past days, but i don't know if it's just me paranoying that i could be getting an outbreak anytime soon and as soon as i think about it my penis itches. I've read that herpes hurt and bla bla, that it has a white discharge but yet i don't have anything white but i also read that the symptom could be mild and u could have nothing at all or just red spot...
Last day i went to the doctor to get my ADHD medications and i talked about it with him, at the time the red spot weren't active and i asked to get a blood test to see if i had HSV2 and he said that i probably don't have it and he won't past at test unless i was really worried about it and he said that if i had it, i would've shown severe symtoms 10 days after contraciton since to developp antibodies i would need to have gotten symptoms. At this point i wondered if my own doctor knew what herpes was since i've read plenty enough in the past days and u could have herpes without any outbreaks ( so symptoms) so he confused me a bit rather than reassuring. So please take a look at the picture and tell me what you think , herpes or HSV2? Also, how many time does an herpes outbreak last like if it disapear in 2 days is it safe to say that this isn't herpes ?
Thanks a lot, have a good day.

A first outbreak usually lasts 2-4 weeks from first signs until complete healing. Recurrences can heal in a few days. Which HSV type did your ex partner say she have, and when did you last have sex with her? If you always used a condom yet still acquired herpes via intercourse, you'd expect it to occur around the exposed base of your penis, but your issues seem to involve the head. That makes me think that it's not, at least not HSV2. Oral sex can transmit HSV1, but it normally causes a nastier first outbreak than HSV2, and yours seems mild. Best thing is to test for IgG at 3+ months.

Oh i didn't know that you get the outbreaks where the transmission occured, she did perform oral sex on me, but she has HSV2, i'll post an other picture of what it looks like now after work since it seems already smaller after a night of sleep. Thank you for the reply.

Oral HSV2 is much less common and rarely recurs or sheds, so is of far less concern in case you fear she also has it orally.

about a week, today it looks even better which makes me think it's irritation... Can i keep a relation with a girl with HSV2 without me getting it ? example if i wear boxer and condom and my penis is in the hole of my boxer and if she starts taking the pills to reduce even more the chances ? I appreciate her but the fact that she didn't tell me before and the way i feel that i could wake up any day with herpes doesn't make me wanna continue to see her...

Lol about all the photo updates from different angles and ehrm states! Still not seeing anything obvious, and if it's getting better after only a week since, then that's not exactly typical of herpes either.
As for continuing to see this girl, if you consistently use condoms and she takes the daily suppressive meds (at least 5 days for them to take full effect), that should already cut the risk significantly. Wearing boxers during sex is probably overkill, but you could both avoid shaving/waxing, opting for trimming instead (or leave it natural). Pubes offer some protection against skin-to-skin rubbing.

Ok, i've read that herpes can heal quick too , it depends on the person i guess, thanks for all the answers man, it's so weird that this virus is so unkown since it can take different form and can be so different depending the person, also the fact that you could have it but it never shows any outbreak is pretty scary since you don't know. Another question, if you finger a girl with herpes can you get it transmited ? If u have a cut or even no cut, or maybe if you touch your penis after, but i've heard the virus die when it's outside.

There are many variations and unknowns, you're right. But herpes typically only heals more quickly when it's a recurrence, not the first outbreak, which is usually longer (3 weeks on average until fully healed and gone). Fingering is fine if you have no broken skin or hangnails, and of course it's always better if she's not having an outbreak at the time and is on the daily meds. Touching her then touching you is not so risky, unless you have a lot of fluids on your hand and/or immediately make contact with a mucous membrane. Herpes does not typically survive for long outside the body.

Since that one is new, why don't you go get it swabbed for herpes asap? That's the only way to know for sure and put your mind at ease (if negative). Pcr swab is best, but failing that, the usual swab culture is fine, but needs to be done sooner rather than later. Make sure they rub the lesion well with the swab.

There's a risk that you do, BUT she presumably didn't have an outbreak any of those times you had sex with her and you always used a condom, plus the issues you've noticed are in the covered part, so hope for the best! But be prepared for the worst, without dwelling on it too much. Good luck!
