Could this be oral herpes?

Hi everyone. I have never had a cold sore before, but about four or five days ago, I shared some drinks with somebody who (I believe) has oral herpes (I wasn't aware that it could be transmitted in this way at the time, but I've since read that it can be). She had no sores that were visible to me at the time.

About two days ago, I developed a dry, red patch at the corner of my mouth. It seemed to have two tiny pimples on it when it first appeared. It was sore to touch, but there was no itching, tingling or burning. It hasn't decreased in size, but is less sore now

I haven't had any fever symptoms except a headache and watery eyes the day before the red patch appeared. It's dry and tight when I open my mouth.

Here's a photograph:

Could it be the beginnings of a cold sore?
