Just an idea, I though it might be good if we all added our pre op and op dates on one thread so that we can all see easily who is up for their op next and wish them well smile

I'll start;

My Pre-Op is 15th Jan and my TAH is 29th Jan

    Hi ladies i had a full abdominal hysterectomy on the 12th Sep because of a large cyst that turned out to be boaderline as well.Now i have a overactive thyroid xxx

      Oh dear Julie, you are have a rough time then sad My hubby has the overactive thoroid too, lifetime pills I'm afraid but on the plus side you'll never have to pay for another prescription for anything xx

      Oooh that's a while away, hope you don't stress out too much before then, I know I would (have!) At lease all us 'sorted' ladies can give you loads of good tips and advice xx

      Just got my pre op date for 16th February.  I was only referred by GP at end of November, seen by Consultant three weeks later and given op date at my appt.  I ve actually delayed it by three weeks as we re going abroad for my husbands big birthday at the beginning of Feb.  hopefully the holiday will relax me enough to forget about it. smile

      Oh how lovely to be going away, I'm sure you will be able to totally chill out. That was very quick from seeing GP to being given a date, what are you having done and why? (don't answer if you'd rather not x)

      I m having a vaginal hysterectomy and a repair to the anterior wall.  I ve had lots of problems over the years with bladder infections and they are hoping this will help solve the problem as the womb and bladder are starting to prolapse.  When I had my second child the obstetrician (who I worked with at the time) said to me I was a prime candidate 

       for a vaginal hysterectomy then so I suppose to have lasted another thirty years before having it done I ve done well.  I ve also had abnormal smears in the past so although I m not looking forward to it at all I know it has to be done.  Just hope the recovery is un eventful as we re also booked to go to Majorca eight weeks after the op.

      Goodness thirty years of prolems and I'm moaning aout 7 or so! I think a vaginal hysterectomy has a quicker recovery time so hopefully you will be sunning yourself in Majorca soon enough smile x

    Nice idea....having my pre op 22nd Jan then TAH on the 29th Jan. As long as it does get cancelled as was originally booked for 8th Jan. All the best ladies xxx

      Hi Karen, yes you and me are op buddies rolleyes Personally I feel a it like a Lemming, you know the little creatures that follow each other off the end of the cliff!! We can hold hands and jump together!! LOL xx
