Dates 2015?

Posted , 15 users are following.

Just an idea, I though it might be good if we all added our pre op and op dates on one thread so that we can all see easily who is up for their op next and wish them well smile

I'll start;

My Pre-Op is 15th Jan and my TAH is 29th Jan

      You'll be fine.the build up I think was worse.once its done you know what and how to deal with it.

      another thing I felt really helped.a small step stool to help get into bath, I was only allowed to shower for 2 weeks but my shower was in the bath, and dont lock the door.

      remember ladies after op try and stand straight, dont hunch.

      best wishes and thinking of you all

      Hi Luisa,

      I am definitely going to write in my journal 'don't hunch, stand up straight', I can see that it is a comfort thing to hunch over, oh but such a terrible habit to get into, I think I will get hubby to shout 'stand up straight' everytime he catches me on the bend!  Great tip, thanks very much.

      Hi Luisa, thank you, keep all the tips coming smile

      A step stool is a good idea but I could use mine in the kitchen as I have a walk in shower smile My bath is quite deep so I guess it'll be a while before I try that, especially if I'm in on my own! (in the house on my own I mean not the bath! smile ) xx

      Must stand straight - Yes Miss, do you want me to put a book on my head too!! wink LOL x

      I think it will be important for us to stand straight so that we stretch those muscles while they are healing, otherwise it will be extremely difficult later down the road xx

      Lol! That made me chuckle, did sound a hit head mistress didnt it.but it is so easy to hunch and the longer you leave it the worse it gets.

      another tip, dry shampoo some days especially in hospital I really couldn't face showeing, just had wash but still needed my hair to look semi decent, my daughter snuck a tin in my bag and thank god she did

      It is indeed, thankyou, though I keep forgetting and lifting things I shouldn't, I wanted to do some vacuuming today (I am 4 weeks post op) and am really annoyed that I couldn't do it without feeling really uncomfortable (I so impatient) but at least I finally got other half to do it! biggrin

      LOL Take it easy, it's the one time in your life you can genuinly sit back and relax without any guilt - that is of course me saying that before I'm in that position and I'll probaally e totally fed up and want to do things too x

      It's amazing how we say 'oo wouldn't it be lovely to not have to do any housework for a while?' then when it comes down to it we are so used to doing this that and the other that you long to get back into routine. My other half said the other day 'didn't realise how much you did', I just smiled sweetly. :0) wink
