Hello Becky, please don't feel guilty about your daughter suffering from sad. I suffer depression and both my daughters do also, you cannot be responsible for others only yourself. Try to be supportive to her. As for yourself maybe a trip to the GP would be something to consider as there are many treatments. Are you taking AD at the moment, are you going through any hormone changes?

Thank you for repliying Elizabeth, what is AD?

I have been to the drs for my age related terafullness, but was told not much can be done except to have prozac:-(

Took my daughter tonthe dr today, and has some anxiety/sleeping tabs so hopefully she can now sleep:-)

Also spoke with someone with regards to counciling so all moving on..she did go into college for 1,5 hrs today but was very angry with me as she wants to stay at home..shes been at college since september and was just about coping until the half term break, now its just awuful:-(

Sorry to waffle on,just dont now what to do with regards to her attending college, dont think being at home will help her at all

Hello Becky, sorry AD mean anti depresants. That's good that you took your daughter to the GP. The medication may take a while to kick in so be aware of that. As regards her going to college is there a college counseller that she can talk to about her anxiety. Maybe if they are aware she could get support for this. Don't forget to look after yourself. Do you  think that anti depressants will help you, maybe a short course.

Its a pre disposition its not your fault. Its not fair to believe you could even teach her something you hinestly dont understand or know. Science really hasnt figured it all out at all.one day they will and then all of us and our children will have the answer and hooefully a fix for all this. Do not do not do not blame yourself! Teach her self love, take her for cbt lessons or learn off the internet, teach her eff. Talk to her lots and lots. Sit her down and teach her proper breathing belly breathing. Thats all you can do. You sound like a very loving person and its most likely genetic do not your fault at all.

Make sire she has full blood work with an endocrinologist because hormones can be imbalanced and cause similiar issues.
