Day 15 on Citalopram
Posted , 8 users are following.
First of all I'm so sorry for posting again and I'm sure I'm starting to bore people with my posts but this forum is like my lifeline at the minute for reassurance.
I am on day 15 taking 20mg of Citalopram and I am so tired today I can't do anything luckily my wee baby is as good as gold but I feel I could sleep all day even though it's not possible
Is this normal??

Yes it's perfectly normal to feel like this. Tiredness is an issue for the majority of us here! I can imagine it must be extremely hard when you have a little one to be responsible for as well as coping with feeling unwell. Good thing is these side effects won't last and will fade out soon.
Glad your beautiful baby is being good and wish you a speedy recovery

Bless you it must be really tough for you right now. I found a cried a lot for the first few weeks of taking citalopram. Whereas I wasn't crying before taking them!! Hopefully your fatigue will pass soon. It's really important to get high strength (800) vitamin D3 and high strength omega 3 these are essential when suffering with depression and taking antidepressants. (Advised by my consultant and I also googled it)
Can you hubby not take some time off to help you whilst your body is adjusting to the medication. You really could do with a rest when first starting antidepressants.
Wishing you well and hope to hear how you get on.
Take care
Blessings xxxx

Never, EVER, think you are boring anyone on this forum. The whole reason for being here (for all of us) is to get help and eventually, we all give it back. Get help, self help and help everybody!
You will look back, especially when you read other "new forumers" posts, in the future, that once you were just the same. In the meantime try and keep positive. Also keep posting and reading. It will take as long as it takes (however long that may be?). Remember we are here for you!
Best Regards,
David

Hope you are doing okay today. It is hard when you first start taking citalopram..tiredness, anxiety, happiness, anxiety, crying etc. All perfectly normal however. It does get better though.
One day you will feel really good, the next bad, but the good days soon start to outweigh the not so good ones and then one day you'll be like "wow...I'm not anxious"
I tried to keep myself busy during the first few weeks so I had something to focus on, even if it was just going for a walk. I also made sure to make me time. Hard when you're a mum, but important. A half hour in the bath can do wonders, or just flicking through your favourite trashy mag.
Be gentle with on yourself andkeep posting on here. It's a great forum and there's some amazing, helpful people, who have been there before.
