Day 6 of Flu

Hi

I am on Day 6 of taking Fluoxetine. I have been prescribed these as I have been suffering from Anxiety. I think that I have been running on empty for a while but not recognised the signs. I have been taking 10-20mg of propranolol to calm the physical anxiety and this has helped. I thought that I was turning a corner until day 4 of Fluoxetine. I spent the day crying and sleeping on the sofa feeling just dreadful. Felt really desperate and as if I was not going to get back to normal. I rang the soctor on day 5 and he assured me that many people feel worse during the first 2 weeks of taking the medication as its the way the med works, I have taken Fluoxetine approx 17 years ago after having my son. I remember telling the doc that for the first 3 weeks I had felt worse but had then started to feel normal again however I don't remember the side effects of nausea, cold hands and feet and feeling drained. Maybe it's because I am older this time round? This forum has reassured me that it is just the med and I keep pushing through another day hoping that I will soon feel better.
