I am feeling  the same David, I was give Clonazepam but i dont take it because i know you become addicted. I only take it when i go a couple of days with poor sleep. I find that it is obviously all in our heads. Walking and running helps me a lot. I come to realize that if i catch the anxiert before it goes into a full blown anxiery attack i have a better chance of not making myself ill.

I do the belly breathing, i have started doing meditation in the morning (a lot of guided ones in you tube). I tryt o chaneg my frame of thought into something else and also bought this book called ..Retrain your anxious brain. I think the key is to catch it before its a full panic attack. But everybody has a different technique just always have in mind that it is completely in our head and that you will find a technique that works. I am determined to get thru this and eventually control it myself and im pretty sure that you can. Wish you all the best and luck on controlling that stress.

The only thing I can suggest is to keep yourself busy, do deep breathing exercises, and try and train your brain to think of something calming. Daughter thinks of a deserted beach with the sound of the sea, and adds things in like clouds, a breeze etc, sounds silly, but it calms her down.

Maybe you could phone them? Hope you find something that works for you, xx

Exercise burns off excess adrenaline and so eases stress and anxiety.  Yoga is great for the mind, a great relaxer, breathing too and it's great exercise too.  Men and women do it, and all ages too.  I go to a class and feel amazing after.  You can find yoga on YouTube.

Agree keeping busy is also good.

i forgot about exercise,  thats good, as daughter didnt have motivation to do it, you could try waving your arms, running on the spot, jumping a round to favourite song? do a lap of your garden, run up and down the stairs, its a good job we dont have cctv in our house thats all i can say!!

kate, i hope you & your son are doing ok, and david, i hope the anxiety has lessoned for you. xx

im so  sorry david,,,,,i am not a good source anymore to give you information because i really use to relate to those of you who have experienced   the side effects   , and the meds to help with the side effects...

I think if you have a really good pychiatrist who can help you through the rough times.....and I do understand about using benzos and becomeing addicted......I think its is wonderful if you can caught the anxiety before it becomes full blown,,,,and then there are those who really need the benzos  to help them over the side effects of anxiety, but you need a rally good psychaiatrsit whom you can trust to help you with this also

I feel like i odnt know how to handle any of this anymore,,,with the prozac and the Brain Injury,,,i haope you all dont think this is a pity party, I just dont know what else to say except that if you dont have a brain  injury,........flu does work,,,  and may need some  additonal med...  I had  Wellburin,  to help wiht the lethargy  and SA but enededup having 2 grand mal seizure bc of other medical conditionals and had to

    stop Well.

i was then changes to concerta 2 x daily ....sr  and then im,,,,,

life was good   .......my brain has changed

I have been on at least 6 antidepressants, at  my consent, in hope sof getting some releif....

      morning honey,

just a thourght, but can you look for a good brain doctor? one that deals with brain injuries, and living with them,  reason i say that, my son is in his 20's he was diagnosed with hemipleagic migraines when he was 4 years old, causing paralysis down his left side when having an attack, attacks could last up to 10 days, kiddy doctors at the hospital looked after him, filled him with medication, BUT after me causing a bit of a fuss, we finally got referred to a neuro dr. please research it, anything you could find,  there will be something out there that will help. xx

You cannot be refused a second opinion, if you ask for one. And now you can be referred anywhere of your choice. Maybe a brain charity could help you too, headway being one we had help from, maybe do some research then go to your gp and ask to be referred there.

or you could pay private to see someone, and then be put back into nhs system so you see same dr under nhs,

I hope that all makes sense, stick with it, my son started being affected aged 2. It took 2 years of me pushing to finally get somewhere with a diagnosis.

Also maybe ask to see your notes, and what was written during a certain time ? Good luck hunny, x

sorry david hijacked your post. X
