Good Afternoon Ladies

I start my course tomorrow morning, Im 5ft 6 and weight 97kg

I have already pre planned on my lunches, where I have bought 20 million tuperware boxes which are all now filled with a variety of salad bits..so all I do is get my other tuperbox and just grab what I want for that day with either ham or prawns...Ive also bought some white and red wine vinegar for my salads.......Muller yoghurt for breakfast and grilled chicken and seamed veg for tea...apples and bananas for snacks and my fav Go Ahead biscuits.....Im suppose im lucky that I dont hav a sweet tooth...

I will be cycling about 8 miles a day to and from work and also after tea we are planning to go for a 2 mile walk...Im very lucky I have a VERY supportive partner.

I wish everyone luck and I hope I can shift this excess baggage that I have gain..

Ive also decided not to weight myself until the course of tablets has finished....I will be weighing myself at the doctors so I know the scales are the same.

You sound liked you've got the right attitude and yes the tablets do work and i agree a supportive partner is half the battle but I told him ages ago that he can have what he wants as long as when he asks me if I want something he only asks me once so I've got used to him eating in front of me and I rarely give in as I know how hard Ive worked to get this far.

    I didn't measure but wish I had.

Good luck and keep us posted :D

I am asking the same question.... \"does this tablet work?\" but I will sure find out on Thursday. I have struggled to lose weight since being diagnosed with under active thyroid. To be honest, I haven't really changed my lifestyle as I was already eating healthy and exercise 3 times a week. I have been more careful with the fat content though. It will be interesting to see if this tablet makes a difference, if not, then I will have to resign myself to being a \"bigger\" girl. Think I am getting really nervous about weigh in as i have resisted standing on the scales for nearly 4 weeks and I am scared of being disappointed. X

I've got an underactive thyroid gland I lost 4 1/2 in a year. I thought I ate low fat before I used the tablets but I've made lots of changes which all add up.

Regarding being constipated this is a common problem especially when you first start on them , make sure you drink plenty of water.

That's fantastic to hear that you can lose weight with thyroid problems. Just a question though, I read that taking orlistat can affect the absorption of thyroxine, have you had any problems?

I was adviced not to take the orlistat when I had my thyroid medication with my breakfast. This meant I could continue to take any supplements at the same time. It is adviseable to take supplements such as vitamin tablets when taking Orlistat as not all the nutrients from your food intake may be absorbed. If you take Orlistat three times a day it is advisable to take supplements at night time ie with a drink of hot choc - low fat of course ( I find Asda God for You Hot Chocolate nicer than other low fat varieties). The nurse did suggest I could take an Orlistat later in the morning with a snack but I work in a school and don't really get the opportunity so most of the time only took two tablets a day.
