Hello Hello,

This is Scotland calling the world, is there anybody out there? good     afternoon to to all on this Boxing Day of 2014. Still not figured out how to space the sentences correctly on this silly laptop yet, can you tell? Not that it really matters so long as I do'nt start typing in Russian or something! So, day two of my new regime with the fluoxetine, so far not too bad during the day but last night was quite disturbed for me, restless and waking up for hours at a time, my first really disturbed night, whether its because of the 40mg or just coincidence time will tell. Not a happy bunny though because I do enjoy my beauty sleep wink How is everybody post Christmas? all put on a stone in weight haha, who ate all the mince pies then. Okay, that's me for now, catch up laters, caio, Davido smile

Well hello from a chilly Derbyshire. We are just in from sales shopping!

Sorry your sleep  was disturbed,  my daughter actually slept  well  for once! I hope it soon  settles.

I didn't eat all the mince pies, as I forgot to buy some!

Did you do your hair?  If not it can be a goal for tomorrow, keep your chin up, xx

Well hello chilly Derbyshire! A very nice part of the country you live in, I spent a year or so in Derby itself back in 06, loved it. That's great news your daughter finally got a good nights sleep, bless. smile Yes I did do my hair, took about 30 minutes to untangle but so worth it in the end, I'm going to get 6 inches cut of it as it's to my waist now and becoming a pain. I have'nt been to the sales yet but I've a cardio appointment Monday coming so I will have a wander round Inverness while I'm there, assuming the new battery I need for my bike does'nt cost an arm and two legs wink yeah chin up, you too xx

It's snowing here!  Whoop!  Puppy is a little confused  and just keeps trying to eat it

I had my very long hair cut,  felt brilliant after, but your head feels weirdly light!

I hope you sleep better, and if you get sweats or aches,  remember that they are normal side effects. Keep a towel as side of bed just in case.

I'm away to play in the snow,  sleep tight.  X

The snow hasn't reached Oxfordshire, but we have a nice crisp cold and sunny day today.  I had to Google Boxing Day as I was suddenly intrigued when you queried it ...... so, that's something new I've learnt about it now ... didn't know why it was called that either.

Christmas is bad for the waistline ... chocolate log too.  I know what my New Years resolution will be again :-)

    Hi david

Hope you got better sleep last night. Lack of sleep can drag you down, ive taken sleep aid a fair  bit but tried without last night and was awake lots too - boohoo still in pjs.

My turn to cook for family yesterday, was in a right flap (ive cooked for hundreds before and never bothered me in past), guess just part of this damn illness making me anxious.  Was all good though and yes likely put on lots of weight!

Got snow in north west last night but all but gone  in rain this morning - shame!

Fingers crossed the 40mg all goes smoothly for you. Keep us posted

    Take care

      hiya Vix,

yeah I did sleep a wee bit better last night thankyou smile I did stay up later so was proper knackered when I went!! So pleased for you that Christmas turned out so well, cooking dinner etc wow as you say it must be the illness causing the anxiety. No snow at my level here just sharp frost, snow on the mountains behind looking magnificent in the winter sunshine. yes I will continue to update on my 40mg journey, day 3 so far so good smile caio for now, David x

Happy to see your progress =)

Today is my 6th on 60 mg, I guess. Yesterday I felt a bit of heartburn, sleepy during the day and this morning a bit of pessimism/sadness. It more or less corresponds to what I felt a couple of days after I upped from 20 mg to 40 mg. Nothing severe like going to 20 mg, and it should pass soon.

I drunk coffee and now I feel more alert, and not pessimistic anymore. It is funny how our mood swing so easily under those medications.

so very true Danilo I can swing from pessimist to optomist in a very short time, it is a constant battle with my mind. That is quite reassuring that you have'nt had any great change in side effects in your change of dose, I was a little bit worried going from 20 to 40 but I did not really have any option as I would have taken almost anything to begin feeling better! funny you saying about a coffee helping you get going in the morning, I am the exact opposite, I suddenly developed a dislike of coffee and now drink mainly water, perhaps 1 coffee per day. smile

Well hello from me,  it's cold and snowy here, we can finally get out as the farmer has snow ploughed the road!

We survived Christmas,  daughter did fab, a few down blips, but not for long.

Hope your doing OK David,  and staying positive, x

Hey hello to you too smile

yes I saw on the news the snowy chaos that is in England overnight, glad you can finally get out! You must be really rural to need the farmer to help you get out, but that is lovely away from the hustle and bustle that is city "life" delighted that your daughter had such a nice time, that is surely positive for the future although some people do have the odd blip where it goes backwards slighly, but not for long. I'm doing reasonably ok thankyou, do have quiet moments where I panic and start thinking negative thoughts but on the whole I'm managing to thrust them aside and concentrate on something else- I bought loads of puzzle books pre Christmas so they do certainly help. Had a walk on the shore at the nearest village earlier but yikes the wind was freezing off the sea!! Thankyou for your message, brightened my day up smile xx

      You sound positive, that's good!

We are not really rural, just a village that the  local farmers agreed to snow plough so the gritters can get!

I have both log burners going and I'm still cold.

Daughters moods change very quickly,  but mostly good ones now, or I should say no dark low moods where she needs to hide from the world.

A walk near the sea on a bracing deserted beach in the depths of winter,  then home for hot chocolate would be my idea of heaven, oh, and with a stew in the oven.

And confession time, I have eaten most of the chocolate fresh cream log!

I do love my logburner, certainly one of my better investments in recent years, only have one but the house is quite small so it works fine, it has a backboiler fitted so I get radiators and hot water too. Aye a walk on a deserted shoreline is certainly one of my pleasures in life, seldom do I see another person which shows there remoteness. If I remember right your daughter is about the same stage as me Karen, although my process has kinda started over again. A long drawn out treatment but such is the nature of fluoxetine, shame really that it takes so long to work effectively, however I'm grateful for the care I receive because without it does'nt bear thinking about. Haha so twas you that ate the chocolate log was it, naughty wink

Daughter will be day 44 maybe on Monday,  beginning of week 7 anyway.

I have moments where I want to wrap her up and protect her from the world,  she is such a dizzy emotional fairy at times, my heart brakes to see her in turmoil, even if it is every now and again,  and not everyday.

I'm guessing the flu is is your system,  so by taking double dose your just topping up!  Think of it like that, puzzle books are a good idea,  what about painting,  or  gardening,  as well?  I'm full of good ideas me!

And to say I'm more a cheese and crackers girl,  the chocolate log was wonderful. Keep smiling(and combing your hair so you don't get tangles)

ah so your daughter is a wee bit behind me, but well on the way I do like to think. smile I do potter about in the garden, in fact I love gardens full stop. The weather is'nt really helping me there though the ground was extremely wet, then the frosts came, however in the spring when things come back to life I can keep busy!  When I'm at work I do provide gardening services amongst other things, had a few months off with health issues but hopeful that recovery is'nt too far away. I'm trying to keep smiling but it's not easy sometimes, I have to see the cardioligist on Monday so that's niggling away at the back of my mind, and the nearer the time comes of course the more it spirals madly out of control. Stay calm David smile yes my hair is staying tidy these past few days, if it ever gets in that state again I may just cut it off, save the hassle, enjoy your evening, ttfn, x
