Debating SCS- Senza Nevro HF10 system or the Boston Scientific system

Posted , 24 users are following.

I now need to decide which SCS system I want to have implanted. I underswtand the Senza Nevro HF10 is relatively new in the USA and the Boston Scientific has been around a long time. I have had lower back pain and leg pain for many many years. Three spine surgeries have not reduced the constant pain I am in. I'm so tired of all the narcotic pain meds and wanting off of all of them. Please comment so as to help me make my decision. Which device shall I choose? Thank you for your time.

I had RFAs and now my pain has increased substanceilly. No relief at all. I am now looking into the Nervo HF10, but I see a lot of negitive comments. A friend told me that her Nervo HF 10 doctor told her that she would loose the nerve feeling in her finger, so she would have to be careful around hot items. She refused the implant.

Roger I will ask the representative about that and get back to you with his answer. Thank you for reaching out and sharing. I am in Northern California, where are you? Kilee

Roger, just spoke with the representative and he said in all the years he has work with these systems, including other brands , he has never heard of a situation like that. He suggested that the doctor might have been very misinformed. I hope this helps. Do you have an expert from Senza nevro that you can speak to?

No Robert, I wouldn't describe my pain that way. I wish you great success in the trial. Kilee

Hi Robert, I have SI Joint pain, and neuropathy really bad in my right foot, and a damaged femoral nerve that makes my left thigh burn and ache.  Please read the warnings from others in the forum and the Nevro.  There are a lot ofo people who said their pain got worse with this, plus the battery has to be charged every day, and some people say the battery gets so hot it burns their skin.  Ask lots of q uestions, and google your doctor's reviews to see  what other patients say about him!  Good luck to you!

Linda the battery has a temperature control so it does not get hot as some of the other units do. kilee

Linda as for me I would rather recharge the battery for a maximum of 30 minutes per day rather than have to surgically replace the unit every couple of years. Kilee

I have my second Medtronic Neurostimulator, but the surgeon decided not to put it in the place that worked for the trial, so it does very little good. It works at my knees and below, and I have to keep it turned down low because I have severe neuropathy in my right foot and the tingling aggravates it.  My new neurosurgeon wants me to put in a Nevro, but I've read about so many problems from other patients in this site, that I'm scared to do it.So I don't know w hat to do now.

Can I give you a phone number to call to ask questions? I am thankful for the research that I have done here. I am more and more convinced that the nervo is the one for me. High frequency means no sparking tingling grabbing effects they are not felt. I understand it for back and leg pain and it has a control on it so it cannot get too hot before it was shut off.
