Depressed for a year now

I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to be here anymore. What's here for me? What am I on this earth for? To be alone forever? To struggle until I'm dead. I'm 24. Never been in a relationship. Depressed. Worry about everything, have bad anxiety, no friends, no job. Haven't had a job for 8 months now, have had one interview. One. Out of 35+. I'll never have a career. I'm afraid of life and I don't know what to do anymore

    Hi, I know it really doesn't but feel like it right now but please believe me and anyone else that tells you that things will get better for you but you have to stay strong for yourself and the people that care about you. It may take a while but first step in my opinion is see your gp and get help, there is lots of help out there if you ask., and you have already made a start by coming on here and saying it out loud :-)

      Thank you for taking the time to even reply to my comment. I appreciate it. I was getting help, lasted about 2 months. It just wasnt the right method for me i dont think, I need to find someone else. Having anxiety and worrying about everything really does make you exhusted, think it all just gets to me and I wonder if its all worth it

    Hi I agree with Sharon - you need to see your doctor as it sounds like depression.  Once you get help you should start to feel a bit more positive.  x

      hello, thanks for commenting. I have been to a counselor the past 2 months but her way of helping me isnt working. It's hard becuase I want help but its so expensive. I'm not working at the moment because I cant seem to get a job, so thats one reason why i'm waiting until i find a job to start conselling again.

    I never check email on Sunday morning but today The Divine tapped me on the shoulder so I could talk to you. I don't know what to call you but I am gooing to call you Sunday.

    Sunday, I am 55 years old and suffer from anxiety and depression. I could not stand my psychiatrist and my psychologist had taken me as far as he could. After a night of crying and curled up in the fetal position, I called a psychitrist that someone reccommended to me and got on the Internet and found a psychologist that takes medicaid. I can't work bc of my depression and anxiety, also bc I have bad problems with my spine and feet. I have my mom and one friend.

    Can you find a doctor where you live? I am from the US. I am on medicaid ( pays for medical and medication). I get food stamps. I am fighting for social security. It has been three years but I will keep fighting.

    I excersize everyday. If it"s okay outside I will walk if I can or just sit in the sun. Ii may not live a great life but I LIVE THE LIFE GOD GAVE ME. Get back to me on the doctor thing and we can go from there. It will be baby steps but the baby steps will be forward Sunday you now have a friend and I won't leave you. Get back to me. I will check back later.

      Thank you. I'm from New Zealand. It's weird because i've always felt so sorry for people who are going through a tough time and i try give people compliments to make them feel good yet I don't do any of that for myself. i feel like i deserve to be down all the time and I say horrible things about me to myself. But i do it because it makes me feel better afterwards, saying horrible things out loud to myself makes me feel better. Theres days like tonight where I just get so down I dont know what to do. I feel like i'll never be happy. I hope you feel happy today, go out and do one thing that will make you happy smile

      I am doing yogo at noon. There are many different types of excersize on Youtube. It looks like you have Internet. You should try it. Find something your intetested in and even if you get through ten minutes you have helped yourself. Since you don't have a job is there some type of free clinic you can go to. Ypu must search the Internet. You can go to a priest or minister even if you don't belong. CALL!!!

      After yogo I am going for a walk in a park. It is 56 degrees but it is sunny and I have a sweatshirt. So that is two things I am doing for myself. I will check back with you Sunday to see what you did for yourself. Remember baby steps are better than nothing. And I want to know what you are going to do tomorrow. Remember Sunday, you have a friend.

      Thank you. I've signed up for a night class next year that I'm interested in. This whole year I've lost all motivation to do anything, I was signed up to the gym the year before and I feel like I've let that all go this year. Need to get back into running and going for walks. Sounds like your day will be nice, hope it was good smile

      My day was good. I know people are trying to help but you can't always think positive. NO ONE can but you need to push yourself. What are you going to do tomorrow. It is eaxy to sign up for something that is still a little bit aways. What is your weather like? Can you run just one mile? I will be checking back for your answer.........

      Thats good. Today i have to go into my dads work and help out while he's away and tonight i will go for a run. I always feel guilty sitting around while everyone is at work earning money. Think thats what i hate the most. I want to work, i want to earn my own money. Hopefully i get something soon

      You probably want to feel fulfilled. You have to see how many of us care about you. Someone said to try just get a job to make money until ypu find something in your area. Someone suggested to volunteer until you find something. Please call that number and see your doctor. Medication may help. Exersize, it gets your endorphines going and that helps. You have lots of friends on this site. I hope you got to run even if it was just a little. I will check on you in the morning. Sleep well. We care!!!

      Thats what I want. To feel useful and to feel like i'm on this earth for a reason. I've done that. Ive volunteered for a couple months and i honestly thought I would have a job before it got to 8 months! Thats why i stopped volunterring because I got so down from not having a job. Need money to survive. I'm slowly getting back into exercising, I was pretty good last year, always did something but this year has just been bad. Lack of motivation. Thank you!

    always think positive. all that u desire shall come to you. for sure. it is truth. your soul, innermost consciousness is perfect. it radiates life energy perfectly. but our subconscious beliefs distort it. never let this falsehood beliefs block perfect radiations of soul.

      Thank you. It's so hard to think positive, I compare myself to others all the time. I compare myself to my siblings and the things they have but not me. I think very little of myself and i'm scared ill forever think like that and ill be this way until i die. I have no confidence in myself at all.

      Hi the way to get confidence is to do things for yourself that give you self esteem.  For example doing a course,  joining a club,  taking up a hobby with others.   And once you are busy living your own life you will have less need (and less time) to compare yourself to others.  We are all different and all want different things out of life.  Work out what you want and go for it.   If you don't know what you want,  think what you don't want and that will help.   Get more involved in your own life and invest in yourself.  I speak from experience...  x

      I'm listening and reading all of the advice given. I just never planned for my life to be like this at 24 and seeing all my peers have things and doing things that i'm not. I know im complaining but it's only been the last year and a half where its really hit me. 

      Thanks for the advice 'hypercat' I understand what youre saying and I never really thought about it like that before. because I do find when i'm busy doing things in my life I worry less about what others are doing. So maybe thats why i felt really bad since being out of work, bevause i have nothing to do during the day so I see what everybody else is doing. Especially my sister, I've always compared myself to her for years, She seems to have everything together, fitness, work, bf, friends. I feel like I have nothing and that i've let people down

      Hi Amy the only person you have to worry about letting down is yourself.  It sounds very selfish but the happier and more fulfulled you are the happier the people you love will be.   You are never going to be anyone else other than yourself and you should never try to me.  Be the best version of you you can be.  That's your only responsibility.  x
