Hello guys I am going threw a very hard anxiety depression mode. Idk what to do or even what do. I need someone to talk to me. I feel horriable. I have hsv1&2 and I just read hsv1&2 are not the same. And that crushed me. I always thought they were but in different locations. I just feel horriable. Idk what to do. Please someone talk to me about this

I'm going through a depression period as well, I'm having to wait to see which type of hsv I have, just feeling like my dating life is pretty much over before it started! I'm sure it will improve

How were you diagnosed? Unless you were swabbed positive for both HSV types, there's a chance you may only have HSV1. The HerpeSelect IgG test can produce false low positives for HSV2 in those with pre-existing HSV1. So, it depends on how you were diagnosed and what your index values were, if tested for IgG. The IgM test is never reliable, just fyi.

Depends whether you have it orally. For example, if you have gHSV1 and your HSV2 is false, then you may have nothing orally. And if you haven't had any oral sores so far, then even if you do have it orally, maybe you will continue to not get any sores there.

Maybe not. And you don't know that he definitely has HSV2, since it could be a false low positive due to his HSV1, like I explained before. Need to know how he was tested and how he scored. Same goes for you.

Not if you've both had it for a while.

Would our test result explain why we don't have outbreaks? By the way I am sorry for asking a lot of questions. 🙁 Just had these on my head for a while and have never been answered

No, sometimes people are just asymptomatic. A test result can't shed any light on that.
