Diagnosed with Herpes Help!!!

I was dignosed with Herpes a little over two weeks ago. I had some of the worse symptoms, I cried every time I went to the restroom. It wasn't just from the trauma of being dignosed, I was in so much pain as urin passed the sores I even weeks later hesitate to pee. I tooks baths about 3 times a day. I missed 1 1/2 days of work because it hurt so bad to walk. I went to the walk-in and at first they told me it was a UTI and I had just scrached and made sores. That was far from the case, same day I called my OBGYN and they told me to come in that day. Went in and she looked at it and knew immediately what was wrong. She started me on anti-fungals it helped but i used all 10 days and 2 extras till I healed up. I am a Type 1 Diabetic so healing is much harder. Now that I have healed I am itching BAD i have scrached till I bleed, mostly in my sleep because I cannot control that. I have several times tried to put on the cream the Dr gave me that is suppose to numb it, it doesn't touch the Itching. I have been miserable!! I go for a follow up in 2 days but not sleeping from the itching is getting old FAST! Has anyone experanced

    Hi:

It may make you feel better to know the fact that the first attack is always the worse and last longest (average 3 weeks sometmes more even). Once you past through it then the future attacks will be milder and gradually after two years most people will not have severe attack as their body builds immunity.

My first attack last year was so severe i wasn't sure I could survive it. High fever, multiple sores on face, back, shoulder, arm, belly (surprisingly not on my genitals). No pain but very itchy sores, unable to eat or sleep (didn't sleep for a whole week) and getting weaker day by day. Then I get a single sore on my back again no pain but itchy and no fever in subsequent attacks. The last attck 3 months ago I started Valtrex right away as I recognized the symptoms and it was very mild and short.

So bear it for another week as thinds would get better, a lot better fro now. Get a Valtrex prescription (generics comes cheaper) and save some for future so that once you feel the symptoms then take them as prescribed by your doctor. Within two year you likely forget you ever had it. Keep your immune system strong, eat balanced diet, multi-vitamins and L-lysine and Bright days will be ahead for you so no worries.

I feel so sorry for you and wish we could share a hug. When i was first diagnosed I didn't go to school the whole week, went into depression, and cried everyday. Life was horrible realizing i had to live with my worse nightmare. I have an outbreak every month. To "deal with it " i clean myself a lot. A take cyst baths with warm water a apple cider vinegar, after i get out I moisturize with olive oil. I mix a little olive oil with majority 100% tee tree oil. And always take your meds. The supressors would usually clear an outbreak within a week. I suggest more natural remedies since you have to balance your diabetic status.

I took your advice Kevin and went out and bought some L-lysine. I have already started taking it twice a day. Thank you for that advice. It does help to know that the first is the worst. I wish we could hug to, I have not told anyone so I feel so alone in all this. I have not tired natral things much, I will have to try the baths. I have heard a lot that the tea tree oil helps but i have not used it since the sores are gone, some of the itching has gone I am not digging as bad at night. i have been able to get about 3-4 hours of sleep a night which is more then i have had in a while. I wish i would never get this again! I hate this!!

Helps to know i am not alone, and with in a few years i will not even notice!!!
