Diagnosed with Male Genital Lichen Sclerosus today

Hi all, after 4 months of misdiagnoses and failed creams etc. I was today diagnosed with LS by one of the top professors of dermatology in London. it came as a shock to me as i have none of the typical white scarring etc and the professor described my symptoms and mild and subtle. i have redness of the glans and foreskin and redness around the meatus which is apparently a telltail sign. The professor has prescribed me with Dermovate ointment to use twice a day for one month and he explained that every patient he has seen with my disease severity he has got into remission. This is of course encouraging to hear, as i'm new to this discussion and extremely anxious about everything, i'd love to hear from any male LS sufferers about how they've got their disease into remission and how they manage it. By all means i'd love to hear from any females too that successfully manage their condition. I'm in need of some positivity people, it's been a strange day but the professor was absolutely adamant all of my symptoms would be gone by the time i'd finished treatment with Dermovate and then it will be a case of ensuring i do not wash with any soaps etc and ensuring all urine is removed from the area after urination. I'd love to hear some positive stories guys.

Hi,
This forum seems a little quiet at the moment - maybe that's a good sign that people are managing their LS and not having too many problems.
There are guys on here that 'll give you better placed advice.
My trigger for a flare up seems to be stress so I have found relaxation techniques,Reflexology and pelvic floor physio and generally changing my lifestyle to taking care of me in the same way as i take care of those around me ,not putting myself first by any means but just as important.
Hopefully you have a partner/ friend who can support you in the challenging days it can feel lonely sometimes.
Medication, moisturise, no soap and watch diet to see if you have a trigger to anything - cutting right back on refined sugar is generally a good rule for healthy living anyway -
everyone's LS is different it seems - so - wishing you good luck with yours !
