So i've finally given into taking medication. I had a blood test recently which also showed my vitamin d was really low so i'm havingto now take vitamin d tablets as well as citalopram. For anyone like myself who has a fear of medication, we overthink every side effect and are hyper aware of any feeling whilst on them.
The issue is that i've now been prescribed by my psychitrist to take diazepam 5mg once every 4 hours. I've seen youtube videos and read online stories of people who have said to never touch diazepam and how bad the withdrawl effects of vallium is. Apparently it has the worst withdrawl of any drug. I'm already feeling constantly on edge and feeling derealization from the citalopram which i'm on my 3rd week of taking, i don't know if i can handle taking more.
What are peoples personal experience of mixing the 2 meds?

Diazapam is fine if u d in small doses and only at the peak of anxiety.. Don't listen to other people do what is best for you and find out what works best for you.. As for vitamin D deficiency it's likely everyone in the world and j winter will have the same problem.. Don't take prescription expensive vitamin D it's just a big rip off.. Go to your local chemist and buy some pharmacy strength vitamin D and you will be fine..
As a anxiety sufferer I know the word extremely low was in fact more likely just low... So hang in there you will be fine.. Sunlight and exercise!

Hi Chris.
Great advice from lee27mcgoo.
If you don't want to go down the Amazon route,I recommend Vitabiotics Ultra Vitamin D3 1000IU which can usually be found at places such as Home Bargains.
You may need to gradually up the dose to 3 or 4x during the winter, and then steadily reduce down to 1x once spring and summer start to kick in.
These should be taken every day,(indefinitely) along with a small dose of K2 (menaquinone MK7) of around 200ug which enables correct uptake of D3 into the cells, and taking one without the other isn't going to do much for you from what I've been told.
Having said all that,I'm not in any position to tell you about any possible interractions with your prescribed meds.,so you may need further advice from someone who understands such matters.
Sometimes, doing nothing about issues can be a bit of a master stroke, but never in cases regarding your health and well-being.
Best wishes
Diogenes

i found i was prescribed anti deps with valium to start off. i felt very ill on anti deps and swopped them several times but dr kept valium. i have managed to keep it below 9mg a day but its right that its addictive and i wish i had never seen it. i was very naive and believed what dr told me to take. if you can manage the citalopram without valium, do that. you will be better for it, i only know now how bad it is.
