Diazepam withdrawl

Hi. I want to cut straight to the point. I have been taking  5mg of diazepam for 25 years illegally. In the past 5 months I have been taking 2mg a day. I am now taking 2mg every 3 days, I am totally feeling so ill. I then take another 4mg and it goes away. Now the big thing is, I have no diazepam left. But I do have a pack of xanax. Can I take a tiny bit of Xanax to stop the withdrawal, then taper with them. I know it was only little diazepam for all those years, why do I feel so ill. I just want to stop the world from spinning. Please help me. ??????🙏??🙏??

I am trying again after I don't know how many times giving up zopiclone

Tapering off is good. You not going to feel well for a good 3 days to a week and then it gets better. Your body is telling you it wants more but that will just be totally against your goal. Tough it out. Stick it out. The symptoms will soon disappear and you will be FREE!!!

You are dropping dosage way too fast and unevenly-no wonder you are sick. That’s what happens when you don’t have a slow, regulated taper. Go to you primary care doc right away and explain your problem and your need for a script for 2 mgs pills. Hopefully that doc will refer you to an addiction doc- a psychiatrist of if you are lucky to find one, a doc who has training specifically as a psycho-pharmacologist. If you are at 2 mgs per day and stable, stay right there until you get to an addiction doc. Look up the Ashton Manual for how to taper. Basically you need to decrease by .05 every couple of weeks and maybe even smaller than that, like .0125 every couple of weeks. For that you may need the titration method which dissolves the pill and has one use a marked medicine vial for the dose. Tapering should be very slow for someone who has been using Valium for so many years despite the low dose. And tapering is an every day dose, no skipping days.

I agree with Carol. You have been on diazepam for many years. You need to taper very slowly.Diazepam withdrawal symptoms can last a long time so go to your doctor and get tapered off properly.

I know that feeling after spinning. Felt car sick. I was taken off everything cold turkey but I was in rehab. Don't you have a detox clinic in your area?
