Discolouration on head of Penis

Hi Guys,

I wanted to get your opinion. I have a white blotch on the head of my penis for a few months now which developed slowly and now seems permanent. I also have red blotches which come and go, the red blotches are accompanied by a shiny and cracked texture to the head of my penis, and mild itching. I have attached a couple of images.

I have also noticed a fishy odour occasionally, and more smegma than usual.

I was recently in a long term relationship in which we used condoms for penetrative sex, we broke up about a month ago for unrelated reasons, and I haven't had sexual contact with anyone else since.

This is something which has caused me some anxiety but I haven't got around to doing something about it until now. Does anyone know what this is? Any feed is back is much appreciated.

I will make an appointment with a dermatologist and let you know how it goes, you might want to do the same. hopefully this is nothing to worry about though. Take care!

Okay, what you may have is a reaction to a combination of things that your skin is in contact with on a regular basis. Using condoms MAY be part of this, but often it is simply exposure to lots of different things, soaps, shower gels, stuff you may be using for masturbation and so on.

What I would like you to do is to do a bit of an experiment: if you have some - very carefully apply baby oil or lotion, or simply any skin cream to this. You need to apply it to the white blotch only - rub it into the skin so that it absorbed.

I SAY VERY CAREFULLY because what you need to avoid is the baby oil or whatever getting near to your Meatus - which is the outlet from your Urethra (your pee-hole) - if you cover the meatus tightly with a clean tissues during application that would be best - then wipe any remaining residue with another clear tissue after rubbing in the oil, etc.

What I think you may have going on is a skin condition developing. If you would rather not experiment what you would need to do is simply see a Dermatologist to get the white and red blotches investigated ....

Hi, thank you for the detailed reply. I did wonder if the white blotch was some kind of callus forming due to rubbing against my boxer shorts. As for the red blotches I was worried this could be some form of STI.

I will cut out any show gel or other chemical products when washing. It will be difficult for me to selectively apply baby oil to the white blotch only since its so small.

I think I will take your advice and see a dermatologist.

I appreciate your feed back nevertheless.

      All the best.

If you update your Forum Post here after consulting with a Dermatologist that would be helpful ....
