I think that i have just had the shortest appointment time with a doctor.ever

Four minutes max. Told I had severe Diverticula Disease, to eat a high 

fibre diet, ,and to look on the inter net if I wanted any more information, then  he was out of the door, and that was it ,,except for a parting shot

delivered in the corridor ""to come back if I had  it again"

  Who do I now ask my shed load of questions ? Oh yes    The Internet.

Silly me, to think that anyone cared  !!!!!!

    Hi Jac.  I think I may have mssed the thread.  In any event, I couln't seem to pick you up again. Firstly, We were down in the Caribbean for a few weeks (I was able to re-visit Antigua where I spent some time another lifetime ago) and then we went up to Norway; the Fjords and the North Cape for a another few weeks.  We would be going to Turkey (cultural - Troy, Ephesus etc) in Nov. but have cancelled (not happy with world situatio vis a vis flying etc at the moment - especially that region.

    Yes, still farting profusely.  It was Waitrose (better class of fart there) not Sainsbury's and I have had no follow-up in all those years. Truly, Jac, doctor's ae really just not interested.  It's such a common complaint.  Very interesting to read some of the posts  though. People who have had bits aken successfully; other who have had bits taken only to suffer further complications.  We really should push for a National ruling from NHS England on what the overall NHS policy is. I will write.

    How are you anyway?  Great to hear from you again.   Can you include the 'new' Jac to our group and help direct her to the 'top' of the discussion.  The o-Codamol makes my wife fly also.  I suspect I a addicted but it's for pain generally, not just this sh*tty diease.

    Iv'e rambled (noting new there). So, Jc. do keep in touch; ask questions; provide jokes and try to keep well.  Jon

      Hi Jon . how careless you to misplace me. The diners is  now yesterday's

      chip paper .Sadly. one tedious woman tried to turn it into an agony 

      forum all about her sad boring life, and I think everyone got bored with it.We had such a good crowd of people ,who had happy verbals, which made me feel a lot  better i have just sent Juliet Bravo a private

      to see if she is O.K

      By the way our mentor deleted your EMail address, so I popped mine

      into your private messages  DO TELL ME that you have got it and

      it's not gone WWW.

      I had a hospital visit  on Saturday morning , blighted my car boot !!!

      Of course there were dozens of coughing morons who never covered their mouths. needless to say I have sore throat ,snotty nose. and had to cancel a vampire session at the doc's this  morning .

      It's never ending ,tomorrow I see  the surgeon who will hopefully sort

      my torn shoulder tendon and shave the cuff !!??!!??

      Should be good fun using this machine with one hand, and ,as Iam a

      lefty, and the left arm will be in a sling for min. of 4 weeks. so. no 

      driving, I will become mental, and you will be one of my ""something 

      to do""

      Two doctors were having a pint ,one asked the other, "Why is your

      waiting room empty all the time"?   The reason is he said ,""the whole

      village is on Prozac ""

      Do not disappear you have no excuse now that you hope fully have 

      my mailrolleyes  Jac with sneezes

    Hi Jacqueline,

    i have scattered pockets of diverticula and was told by doctors my ct scan was "normal" only 2 b contacted about 3 days later by another doctor from same gp surgery telling me I have  diverticula!! When I was first told nothing was found on the ct scan I could have cried cause the stomach aches where constant but then 2 b told it's not normal is not right in my eyes I mean how come doctors are always contradicting each other I mean where are they finding these people!!the advice I was given was 2 look at the latest tool GI specialists are using which is FODMAP diet dunno if ur aware of this but i had never heard of anything like this have a look at it see what u think and good luck in your quest for "inner peace".

      Hello Tom , welcome to the club of not knowing what is going on.

      I had 5 days in hospital, as we all seem to do ,on drips and no food etc 

      the ward doctor told me that there was no perforation (sigh of relief) 

      I then saw an out patients doctor ,who said there had been a perforation 

      Who do you believe ? Aunty or Uncle ? so it's pretty obvious. no one 

      knows, so that makes three of us in the dark. 

      I started aforum for such people as you and I called DIVI DINERS 

      which was hugely popular because there are so many of us wandering

      through the food maze  Try it you will find lots of help, and lots of laughs

    It's happened again, only this Time by 111

    I've suffered with a steadily worsening painful flair  No sleep. at 6am phoned 111

    went through the usual barrage of  questions none referring to how bad the pain was I said that I had phoned 111, because the chance of getting a G.P appt

    this morning was highly unlikely

    The response was  "to see your doctor within the next 2 hours "" The surgery 

    does not open it's doors until 8=30

    Any suggestions guys, as what my next painful move ought to be ?

      Sorry to hear that you have another painful flair up. Don't know your personal circumstances but have you thought about seeing a private consultant who would take you seriously for obvious reasons? Worth a try if you could afford it. Thinking about you x

      Hello Linda, after waiting 48 hours for some meds,  3 hours waiting to be 

      seen ,and  being told that antibiotics cause problems,  I will probably go down the one to one road, or check out another practice 

      Hope you are O.K xquestion

      Very wise after all your suffering. I have largely been pain free for a few weeks seems to be since I give up eating foods with seeds in or maybe just a coincidence? Let us know how you get on 😒

      I get a half afraid to eat anything ,  I have no idea what started this 

      episode .the  only thing I had that I haven't had for yonks was a criossant

      which I thought would be harmless. Gone back to peeled Charlottes ,  

      and scrambled eggs for breakfast First three tabs gone down ,just hope

      there will be no side effects Just want something nice to happen for a 

      change x

    Morning Jac.... What is happening now with you since your last message. Did you manage to get a Dr appt this morning? 

    Poor you, you just get over one hurdle when another problem arises.

    i have my colonoscopy appt on the 14/10, so hopefully I will get some more news! Emphasise 'hopefully'...

      Managed an appt this morning   Instructions======

      Arrive at 11 am, and sit and wait, someone will see you

      Next hurdle shoulder op 15th . probably not if this thing doesn't clear up.

      I think I have a mega case of Body Rot

    Can I ask all of you which antibiotics your G.P.s give you, and do they work, and

    how long do you take them for ?

    I got an ear bashing from my doc for using them, who has the prescription pad ?

    Is ther anything else that will kill the inflamation ? Because if there is ,why doesn't

    he prescribe it ??

      Rainy morning Jon. Iv'e come back to this forum, as  can see there will be a non receptive  on the other one What sort of GP can insist on a bum run?/

      Ithought it was a consultants who gave the nod ?  We have had one or two similar whingers who got the hump when we didn't say the things they wanted to hear, and disappeared. Truth and Farts will OUT'

      there are no two ways to say ""youv'e got it, live with it ""

      Hope you are on the probiotics and Vit D  Now they are settled into my system. I feel good Who knows . the end of your farting era may come 

      to an end.  

      Why have we become Guru's??razz
