I was Dx with Diverticulisis 6 years ago and have had three or four major attacks since then.  I’ve found that each time I have an attack I have a profound lethargy that lasts for days.  I do believe I am also an IBS sufferer  and have hypothyroidism managed with meds for years.  I would like to know if others experience both lethargy and insomnia with diver disease ?

Hate to tell you this ,,but there is no connection between  the three,,, Blame your brain, for two of them,, and probably your eating habits for the other one ,

Yes. It causes major anxiety and that creates insomnia. Try breathing techniques at bed time and an anti anxiety med could help. Check with your doctor.

I definitely get lethargy but I only have difficulty sleeping when I get the pain.  I think the lethargy is probably due to only being able to have a liquid diet, that's what I put it down to anyway - so I put my feet up, get a good film or watch something that makes me laugh .....always makes me feel better. smile
