Dizziness and light headedness

I've been perimenopausal for about a year. Recently I find that I've been feeling dizzy and a bit faint especially when I start to get hot but I don't sweat. It's a feeling of fogginess, and I feel like I need to lie down or I will faint. Has anyone else had these symptoms?

Yes!!! I did in the beginning but thank God it passed now.  I can say, glory to God🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 because in the beginning it was bad.  I could’ve hardly function but I started eating way healthier than I used to more organic, lots of fruits, veggies, more exercise.  Thank God 90 percent better than I was when it first started.  Praying you feel better!!

Hi Karen - I am so glad to hear you are feeling better!  I have experienced intense chronic dizziness for the past three months with no relief.  Brain MRI normal.  I would be very interested to know what patches helped you.  Be well!  Thank you to all who are sharing their experiences.

Yes dizziness really bad at the very beginning of all this, then on to other bad symptoms, then everything cycles now ... Look out for migraines they usually go along with the dizziness, and can be pretty intense!!! You have to give up a lot while going through this change if you want symptoms to be less intense, lots of things trigger bad symptoms.. For example food additives, coloring ,processed foods soaps, and dyes, and chemicals, caffeine, perfumes, dust molds all kinds of things that never bothered you before can trigger your symptoms and make perimenopause pure hell, so if you try your best to eliminate many triggers your ride through this transition may be a bit easier... Lots of walking exercises meditation, eat right, and be kind to yourself, and take this all one day at a time....

No it’s very common . I wish we could all wear a sign on our heads..sometimes when you see other women shopping at dinner having fun .... you wonder if they’re going through the same thing? I think it would be comforting to know you’re not alone in this .

Simone - I have this and it will last anywhere from 1 for up to 5 minutes. If this is how your "episodes" go it is a hot flash without sweating. Hot Flashes have MANY different symptoms that can go with each one. There are about 30 different physical and emotional symptoms you can get with each one. Sometimes mine will just be physical symptoms. Other times just emotions. Other times both. If I'm having a lot of these flashes each day it can be exhausting. If yours is more of a regular feeling - it's likely a drop in hormones and you might benefit from bio-identical hormones. Take care, Simone!
