DLA Claims

Hello
Just thought I's start a new thread on DLA,
Those who know me on here know that I'm new to this.
But after speaking to my doc over my condition, in great detail and explaining some of the problems that I'm having with mobility, he suggested that I applied for a blue badge for parking which I now have!
This has helped me no end has my job involves going from one office to another and parking can be a nightmare never mind trying to find somewhere on the flat so I can get to the place.
He also suggested that I apply for DLA for the mobility part of it.
I've got the pack here, but wondered if it was worth applying for, it does state that even if you're working you can apply. But wondered what your thoughts and experiences had been if you had applied for it?
I've never claimed anything before, so was wondering if anyone else had tried and what problems, if any! they have had?

Good you have got your blue badge. Should make things a lot easier for you. I have never applied for anything myself before so don't know anything much aboout it. Some of the other girls have tried and will probably know something about what you have to do.
I hope you have a good day.
No like this damp wet weather we are having at the moment as always makes everything hurt more. Do you find the weather affects you as well pain wise.

Wish you all the best with your application form.

I don`t get the mobility component myself, but my husband does. I think the best thing to do is get some help filling it in because lots of people say its the way you word these things that matters! We had help from a charity for the blind here where we live and they have people trained on how to fill in the claim to get the best result. The first place for you to get help would probably be Citizens Advice Bureau. Also get together as much evidence as you can to support your claim, ie. from GP or any other proffessionals that you have had dealings with.
Hope this helps,
Linda
