I believe I am having my first herpes outbreak. Last month I was diagnosed with BV since then my vagina hasn't felt the same. February 7th my anus felt super itchy during the day, at night my vagina and anus felt itchy and I had a tingling sensation. I ended up getting a rash around my anus which made me decide to investigate and I took a mirror and flash light to find out I had a line of small clear bumps around my anus and two around my vagina with a rash as well. I got into a sexual relationship with a guy back in October. I did get tested while we first started having sex since i did have a partner before him . It turns out I was only tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea. Is it possible I've had herpes years ago and just recently had my first outbreak or could he be an Asymptomatic carrier and I just recently got it ? We've been having sex since October of last year why now am I having an outbreak? He knows what's going on and is going to be getting tested too I am waiting a week for my results.

I went to my doctor and I told her my symptoms but the rash was already healing so she didn't swab it but sent me to get a blood test. So I will know in a week. Is it more likely I came into the relationship with herpes or I got it from him since we've been together since October? He's never had symptoms

It is definitely possible to get herpes from an asymptomative partner.
I’m a great example! I was diagnosed with G-HSV-1 after 8months of being with my boyfriend.
My Dr concluded I got it from him. I had my first genital herpes outbreak and was able to get swabbed (it was literally day-two of noticing the bumps prior to them ulcerating). My swab was positive of HSV1 but my bloodwork was negative (no detectable antigens yet) meaning i had just recently came into contact with the virus (within the month).
My boyfriend was also tested, and he showed a high antigen quantity for HSV1, meaning he had HSV1 for years, maybe since childhood.
Asymptomatic individuals can still be contagious at anytime (usually 3-10% of the year) because the virus can shed replications of itself on the skin’s surface even in the absense of blisters.
Hope this helps. I wanted to share since it sounded similar to my situation.
