Do I have herpes?

I've been sleeping with the same guy for almost a year, but we recently decided we were going to stop having sex, so he has likely been with someone else in that time. About 10 days ago we had sex, with a condom, then without. Lastnight, half asleep, I found what felt like dry skin, almost on the inside of my vagina. Without thinking, I scratched it off and it immediately bled, kind of a lot. This morning it just looks like a small swollen bump - no itching, soreness, tingling, no puss.

I've had reactions to condoms in the past, but typically it's itching and discharge. I also struggle with ingrown hairs, but they don't usually bleed so readily.

I don't have health insurance so I don't want to go get it tested if I don't have to.

Thoughts???

I don't know where you're from but in the US you can go to a planned parenthood and they charge based on income and often its free to get checked. It's better to spend the money an know for sure rather than risk spreading it unknowingly. Good luck

Thanks... I make a whopping 26k a year so I'd have to pay full price at planned parenthood, which is over $300 in my area, plus I'd have to take time off work to get there while they're open rolleyes If things don't change in the next few days I'll find a way to go in, I'm just looking for a little insight before I get to that point.

I've been to planned parenthood 3 times in the last month and a half. my appointments have ranged from $50-$75. and i don't have insurance either. and there is usually at least one day they are open late on for people who can't take off work.

They get different amounts of funding based on state laws, budgets, ses in the area. I called a few around me and they said for labs it would be over $300.
