I've had constant anxiety with depression now and then for no reason since September! I've been on Prozac awhile, been treated for under active thyroid, had a pituitary tumor removed... And nothing has changed when it comes to my anxiety! I was wondering if anyone has any success stories to share....? Because I've read pretty much everything since September so I just want to hear something positive

you just need to take control of your mind...this is how I did it.
Imagine that you have been transfered into different mind to repair it.
So what you`re here for is to listen for the thoughts that come throuht the mind
and compare them to the emotions. you have to really ask your self does it really have to be here ? No ? then rethink the though and always when it comes back
do it again until you dont feel that way. Sometimes we tend to feel things before we reason them. It could feel overwealming I know Ive been there and still am.You can make a pretty good recovery you just have to be the maintainer not the reciever. Other then that try to avoid things and people that make you anxious.
If you cant or dont want to then learn about those things better. Anxiety is our prehistoric mind it was used for protection it isnt intelligent and it tends to skip logical or complicated thinking. what you have to do at that time think about your worries that will fire up your Central Nervous System(CNS) that producess serotonin the feel good chemical thats in our brains. try to read about anxiety the only way you are going to fix anything is by reading about it. For example the limbic system the lizard brain our prehistoric brain that we used in dangerous situations. It does things without thinking about it to get the quickers reaction for survival. Take it that way, still better to react when theres no danger then dont react when there is danger . And if you feel down and depressed remember that you are unique no one is like you and never will be they can be simular but not you. Try to live healthy lifestyle and avoid caffeine it can trigger panic attacts because it makes you more alert.
if you are religious then pray and believe or if not , meditate you dont have to be religious to meditate you just sit still or lay down breathe deeply count to 5 with each inhale and exhale if 5 secounds is too much do 4 or 3 at the begening and progress. I know this seeems too much info and effort but everything takes effort and time. And after you get better you will be proud of your self and wanting to help others. Athought genetilized anxiety will always be there I can tell you I supressed it by 90% and the depression is just a side effect of your anxiety. what ever you do dont think of an suicide like I did when I was so frustraited and down. You`ve been given a puzzel to solve which then you can help others to overcome their puzzels. I know you`ve had health problems but you just cant let that sink. I have been born be 2 kidneys on 1 side of the body and with 1 adrenal gland so my body dosent produce much of adrenaline. I also have ADHD which always made me feel from others since childhood up until now. Due to that I also had lot of social anxiety not many friends. I have learned to communicate with people and suppress my ADHD which always made me look ignorant. the problem is that I didt know why I was this way until my 18s. Anyway sorry for this monstsity but yeah hope it made you feel somewhat better. what ever you do beleave the lizard
