I have been experiencing symptoms since early March. It started with intense itching on my outer labia. Since then my symptoms have calmed down a bit and are mild compared to how they were in the beginning. The best way I could describe my current symptoms is a prickly feeling on my outter labia where the hair grows and sometimes the skin will sting or feel itchy on certain spots. Sometimes my inner labia near my vaginal opening will feel itchy too like if I have a thorn stuck on the skin but that’s at random and doesn’t happen all the time. All these symptoms seem to only happen when there’s friction to the area like when I walk around or when I’m moving in my seat or when my clothes rubs on the skin. If I’m sitting still I don’t really feel anything. When I’m walking around I feel like the skin is dry and rubbing up against each other and like I have little tears or crack on the skin and they’ll itch/sting. I looked down there and don’t really see anything significant? Although in some areas the skin looks like it has exaggerated lines and slight thinning/lightening of the skin i think? I recently saw my gyno on Tuesday and he basically brushed me off and said I’m fine and that he doesn’t see anything. I mentioned lichen sclerosus and lichen simplex and he said I didn’t have that. I asked if i could try a potent steroid and he said no that it would cause damage. He finally gave in and gave me Clotrimazole/betamethasone. I have already used antifungal creams and even did a 9 day course of Fluconazole so I know it’s not fungal related, but could I still use the cream for the betamethasone benefit?
Also judging from these pictures and my symptoms, would anyone say I indeed have lichen sclerosus or lichen simplex? maybe even just a mild case? I swear I’m not crazy! I’m just tired of people not taking me seriously 😦 any input is much appreciated!

Well I'm no physician but, from the picture, I'd say yes, it is LS. Plus, you have LS symptoms of itch, prickling, whitening. Why he can't see that, who knows. It is an unfortunate fact that doctors are not up to date on their knowledge. Likely that's because it's a woman's disease.
Do try the betamethasone 2x a day for at least 2 weeks. Coconut oil (extra virgin, organic only) or the same quality olive oil or even calendula cream might help alleviate the symptoms.
Let us know how you do. Probably need another gyno too.

The cream you got is a combo of antifungal and steroid. It would be good for LS.
