hello,

I've been noticing in my stool an odd yellow blob. i have had IBS since i was 7. I'm also lactose and have a sensitivity to red meat. i usually get a stomach ache couple minutes after i eat and have to go to the bathroom. I've just notice this yellow thing in my poop for 2 months and it comes every two weeks i would say. i do have a B12 deficiency, so i do get tired and lose my balance a bit etc. i do not eat corn, i haven't had any for a few months.

does anyone know what this could be? i can only think mucus but i also dont think so.

should i see a doctor about this?

anything will help!

hi breannapel, from what i've read from the real 'experts' on here, this is either bile or gallstones or fat. see your doctor as it's something new, explain what's happened and if they are any use they should help you.

Yellow stools are common with IBS. If you are having to run to to the loo frequently and the stools are loose or diarrhoea, they can come out yellow because your food is moving through you too fast and the bilrubin is not getting a chance to turn your stools brown. Bowel habit change with IBS can affect the colour of your stools as well as the shape, size and consistency.Sometimes you can pass mucus which has that yellow look. Try the Low Fodmap diet/food diary to see if you have any other food triggers apart from red meat and lactose. Do not worry.
