Sleeping till first awakening which might be 3 or 4 hours only. Then, I cannot fall asleep again. Can't take medications.  Will this ever end?

Hi there , Im almost 49 and have been going through this for almost 5 years  . Yes , it's frustrating , so I hear ya .It's just all part of the hormonal change that the body has to go through I was told .

For me I found that limiting my coffee or any caffeine drinks  after 7-8 pm daily helps a bit and also I try to lay on the couch and keep cool before bedtime .

Then I run a fan in my room and it also keeps me cooler which helps soothe the hot flashes I get every day .

Good luck , I know it's hard but some day the symptoms will improve and you'll feel so much better .

Hi there, sorry but it's been getting worse. I'm into it I like 8 years, and I had decent sleep for about 8 months, while on medication. It really helped but then my body got used to it and as of today I've been up 24 hrs if not more. I don't know how it's possible to stay awake so long but I'm living proof of it. I'm going to work out for a bit and hope it tires me out so i can sleep. Good luck.
