You are funny! “Type much” It happens! LOL
Oh good...glad you went to the doctor. You “might” have some of the side effects. Everyone is different. How did you do in the beginning? I was very lucky, my doctor just told me to take it at night before bed with a little food, I did and had very few and mild side effects, and have done real well for 3 years on the 20 mg. I just had something happen with my Mom’s health, and her moving away, and I have been thinking of talking to my doctor about maybe raising my dose for the fist time. I have to admit I am a bit apprehensive about it too, but I have done so well all this time, I am thinking I would do well. I am just having a hard time of it right now. So, we are kind of in the same spot here. Sometime we just need a boost to put us back on our feet again. We can always come back down slowly to the dose we are more comfortable with, yours is 30 mg, mine is 20 mg.
If it were me...I think I would go ahead and give the 40 mg a try. If you are not feeling like you want to be after you give it a try, talk to your doctor about giving another med a try. I hear there is another form of Cital that works better, with less side effects, but there are other meds out there that others say work very well too. What ever you decide, I wish you good luck John! Good Thoughts your way!!

I'm on 40mg and it has worked for me. If you are going to get any added extras (as I prefer to call them - little more positive than side effects, in a cr*ppy kinda way) you should have an idea what to expect by now. They can still come, but not everyone gets any really bad ones (usually) at this stage. If for are unfortunate to do so, it may mean a review in a few weeks time to see if it has settled down.
My GP knows a lot about sticking plasters for the brain and goes by an interest in, knowledge and experience of SSRIs. She is well up to date with mental illnesses and I am so lucky my old GP retired as he would not have given me the advise and support she has and I wouldn't be where I am now, which is a much better place.
You have already made a good move toward your own recovery by coming to this all inclusive forum. Keep posting and reading and I am sure it will answer questions you have and give you peace of miind. There is a lot of experience out here and I would not have been able to manage without it as part of my recovery.
Finally, don't push yourself too hard to get better, recovery is far better when done in moderation. It does sound ironic listening to myself suggesting this as usually I go on about the benefits, to mental well being, of exercise!
Regards,
David
