    Hi dianne,

you dont mention your age? I do believe that when we are coping with an injury it may affect your hormones, these play a huge part of regulating the body and mind.

you are healing and it takes time and energy. Have you been taking lots of painkillers? These can alter hormone levels, as can different foods. Its just a thought as i know from expereince that any kind of stress has an effect on us, it may not be apparent to you but deep down its been a shock.

Even if you are in your forties peri menopause can begin, bringing with it overheating, temperature changes with hormone fluctuation. As well as other niggly, awful sensations. Its often overlooked by Drs as your hormone tests dont show much at that stage of transition. Check out the menopause forum here.

in the meantime keep cool, have a fan on, drink plenty of water, hopefully it will settle down

    Good luck 🐨

Hi carol.I'm 57 . I've have been through an early menopause 17 years ago through full historecomy. ..it isn't hot flushed as I don't flush it's body over heating can last for 2 to 4 hours .that does make sense an accident can bring stress on even though I don't feel the stress it can come in different ways ..thanks carol .just hope I'm not on a double dose long term and can go back to my usual 20g ..kind regards.dianne.

      Hi,

pleased to hear back from you! I am 60 this year and ive been having a rough time after a gall bladder operation. Anxiety over health has been awful since op, im on 19 weeks of prozac. Ive only just lately felt a little more positive and less anxious.

i remember being out shopping i had this huge horrible heat sensation my face went bright red, people commented i was so red.

since op ive had sweats, shakes, itchy skin, many odd sensations drs all said anxiety. Ive read that operations can bring on depression, ie from the stress, and the different drugs used.

it does make sense that your body is trying to heal, whilst you may not feel stressed im sure its putting strain on your nervous system etc and yes stress shows up in many ways and not all of us in the same way. Think positive your ribs will heal, given time, the prozac is just a little boost to help you over the rough patch. Can you start a food diary? Could it be something you are eating or a medicine you have recently started taking, any new foods or herbs in your diet. Try and eat less sugary foods to see, maybe less caffein eliminate something one week, etc and so on. Gluten isnt good for us either, its so hard to have a perfect diet, but we can always eat fresh, good fruit etc.

i do hope this overheating issue dissapates soon, must be so uncomfortable, try and look on the bright side, things could be worse. Thats been my motto lately lol👌👍

      best wishes 🌷

Stress can show up in many ways. For example I have panic attacks mostly at night but feel a heavy chest during the day. I do not have anxious thoughts but my body is stressed and has me feeling hot or I can hear my heart beat at night. On general though life seems good.
