i have several grade three to four internal hems and also external hems. My dr has tried banding and injecting the internal hems. He said if he did surgery all at once to remove all it would be too painful. He wants to give me a local numbing and remove an external in his office during my next visit. This won't take care of all the hems but I am guessing he wants to see if it makes a difference before removing it all? Any one in a similar situation? Wondering what the, recovery is like for one external hem being removed in the office (not lasered)

Honestly, I would get a second opinion. I really haven't heard of a doctor suggesting to remove only one hemorrhoid out of several? It is not uncommon for people to have extensive removal of internal and external hemorrhoids. I had three internal ones removed about two weeks ago. There is no point of having multiple surgeries to tackle it one by one. Again, get a second opinion.

Definitely get a second opinion! I had internal and external removed along with 6 polyps, fissures cortorised and Botox injected into my muscles to try avoid further issues. My story has been ongoing hence so much done and it wasn’t the first time.
Everyone has different pain thresholds and deal with pain in different ways. Like stated high fibre, plenty of rest along with hot baths and just under 3 weeks later I was near enough back to normal, some people take longer some less.
Get a second opinion, if you deal with issues individually your prolonging the problem and suffering more. Get them all done together. Unless your doctor has been through the surgery themselves they don’t understand the aftermath. Never known a doctor to perform this in there surgery either.
Good luck 😉
