yes! since i turned 45 i have had this exact same problem. Extreme dry eyes especially at night. it's so hard to even open my eyes in the morning. feels so heavy. there are days when i have woken up at night in a panic in the middle of the night because i can't make my eyelids open and i feel blind and trapped! i use refresh tears drops several times a day. funnily enough my hrt made it even worse. then i used Testosterone gel, (against my Doctor's advice) and after just two days my eyes began feeling better. it's still not normal but at least fifty percent better. sadly i had to stop the testosterone last week due to side effects. i guess now it will go back to being dry!
