I've suffered for a while from an excess of dry stool backup that I can't get rid of. As a result my bowel movements are always incomplete and rarely satisfying. I have tried Metafiber, Benefiber, fiber foods, and drinking more water. Drinking a glass of warm water usually helps to stimulate a good bowel movement, but it is still incomplete. What happens is, I get a good size, well moisened stool, but behind that there is still the mass of dry hard stool backup that I can't budge.
I have an appointment with a specialist later in the month. In the meantime if anyone could give me any further suggestions I would appreciate it.

If fruit and vegetables and laxatives aren't helping, you need to go back to your doctor for further advice
