Hi Terezia, I went throught he op on both feet last year. The key thing is to rest up for 2 weeks. I stayed on the bed and read all the books that I hadn't a chance to read for years. Do not be tempted to become mobile as you'll pay the price. I wore a huge pair of baggy socks to keep the bare parts of my feet warm. After my stitches were removed, I rested up as much as I could as I found that my feet swelled up for a few months after. I eventually bought some extra wide and extra deep shoes for comfort. I have never been one for heels and now flatties are all the rage. Don't be too impatient with yourself. And after the stiches have been removed make sure that you massage plenty of perfume free cream into the scars to keep the skin supple. And that is it! Easy. You'll hear all sorts of horror stories but I can honestly say that I have zero pain whatsoever. I had good nerve blocking by my surgeon and went home with all sorts of pain killers but only too paracetamol. I al the world's biggest scaredy-cat so that speaks volumes for how my surgery went. Good luck. Stay positive. It's all worth while.
