Early onset of cataracts

Posted , 3 users are following.

I am 30 and have just been diagnosed with a very small cataract in each eye; most likely medical induced. My vision at the moment is unaffected, but they can not give me a time frame of when things will get worse

I am worrying mostly about PCO after surgery and having to get YAG laser done - because I don't want floaters in my vision

Does going to a good private clinic lower the risk of getting PCO please? And is it rare for it to happen? Many thanks

    1. The PCO depends a lot on the type of the lens and of course, the individual himself. it does not depend on the skills of the surgeon.

    2. Even if one get floaters in the eye due to the YAG laser procedure, those are only temporary and should not change any plans for how best to take care of your vision.

    3. If you don't have to have a cataract surgery at this time, you should just wait it out until you have to have that for good vision. There is always the possibilty of better lenses available in the future.

I agree with at201 and one more thing is that in my area insurance won't pay to have them removed until they meet the standard that Medicare sets.
