Edge Glare after Surgery

I like to hear from members that had cataract surgery at least 6 months ago and suffered from edge glare after the surgery. I'd like to know if it ever went away on it's own and if so how long did it take before it was no longer noticeable.

Hi Jeff - I had cataract surgery on one eye about six months ago. The edge glare was very noticeable in the beginning but over time I learned to ignore it (or maybe it settled in). I still see the edge when I'm next to a lighted lamp (when reading in bed). Are you having trouble?

I had surgery 6 weeks ago on my LE. My eye has completely healed but I still have Edge Glare or dysphotopsia when looking at my computer monitor or when I'm in an artificial light environment. I am hoping it goes away on it's own and I wanted to hear from others that have had similar issues.

i am 8 months out and the glare has not gone away. it is very much noticeable.

what i see is a flare that shoot from the light source and forms an arc between 11 and 4.

hi jeff, i have had three surgeries in one eye, and still not sure if what i see is edge glare, or where the incision was made( causing a dimple: still the best way to describe it), because it is in the same location. whichever is the reason for this glare, i noticed it right away, but now 2.5 months later it isnt so bad. i notice it more when my eyes are dialated. in the morning, and also when a light source is coming from just behind that shoulder ( reading lamp) im young 49, and still have rather large pupils i also have blue eyes. as we age our pupils will not dialate as large, and i will be happy to see if that resolves the issue.

are you able to get info from the doctor whether if you have an astigmatism on the cornea? could be another explanation.

also, im concerned with the new droopy eye lid. are my eyelashes being pushed downward, and im catching a shadow off of them? so many possibilities

    good luck

My eyes are not yet "ripe" so I have not as of yet had the surgery; diagnosed 6.19.19. I'm not liking what I am reading here. What other side effects are possibilities?

I had my surgeries in November and December. I noticed at church and headlights at night. Unless Im getting used to it, I dont believe its nearly as bad as it was.
