I just went and got an ehcocardiogram today. I was full of anxiety and I also have health phobia. I was freaked out to get it because I had two normal ekg and couldn't understand why I was getting ordered to take an echo. The only thing I can think of is my blood pressure is high when I go to doctors. But I have a cuff at home and my blood pressure is normal for the most part. Except when I get my anxiety going. No I am scared again , because when the Technician first looked at my heart , she said I can tell you now there is nothing serious. I don't usually say anything but you are so nervous. Then at the end of the test , She said it's within normal limits.. well that told me something is wrong! What is within normal limits??!! I am thinking blood pressure thicken left side heart wall. She said there is nothing serious. What does that mean within normal limits!!Help!!!!!!

No.. You're fine.. Normal limits means the walls are normal, there's no blockages, that's normal limits.. I have the same problem as you.. Always nervous and I got sent for an echo and holter.. Got the results saying i was fine.. I still haven't accepted it and think I can just randomly still die of a heart attack.. Believe your doctor when you get the full results.. Within normal limits is EXACTLY what you want to hear.

Nothing to worry about! means everything is okay! Normal limits for example... everybody is different, some people are more fit than others so their blood presssure will be lower, some people may not be quite as fit and theirs will range a little higher. So they've created a normal range, as long as youre within that area then youre fine! Another example, Normal human temperature is anywhere between 97.5 degrees to 98.6. Now you know that when your normal body temperature goes out of that Normal range, (102 degrees for example) that then youre out of that normal rnage and have a fever.
In the end you're completely fine, just continue to monitor your blood pressure (create a log of everyday) and you will be able to see what your normal range.
